Delilah, in her long mermaid–style wedding dress, walked toward Alpha Spike, holding a large bouquet of white roses.
After the speeches from Mom and Dad, it was Abelard’s turn.

For Christmas, she gave me a plush lion toy. I was the only one who received it–Abelard and Delilah didn’t have one.
Abelard, used to getting his way, demanded I let him play with it. When I refused, he simply tore the toy apart.
Not long after, my aunt returned to retrieve a hat she had forgotten and happened to see the torn pieces scattered on the floor.
To protect her beloved son’s reputation, my mom told my aunt, “Peachy didn’t like the toy and insisted on tearing it apart. She said she
didn’t want to see it.”
My aunt’s expression immediately changed, and from then on, she would skip giving me gifts at every gathering.
