Chapter 14
Eden’s POV
1 stood up from where I was sitting with a piece of my favorite chocolate in my hand to see who was at the door.
Trevor stood there in awe, with the whole of his gaze and an opened mouth on the man. walking away.
The sight of Mr Hunter walking away from my doorstep sends chills rushing down my spine.
I ran after him.
“Hello,”
“Your resignation approval still remains pending because Samantha is still not fit for the job,” he said, keeping his gaze away from me.
“Yea, I got an email from the HR stating that,”
I could tell that there was a better reason he came because it wasn’t in his job description to come to my doorstep just to convey such information.
I noticed he wasn’t wearing a suit because he had worn something else to work for as long as I have known him.
“Why are y…”
“See you tomorrow,” he said, cutting my words short.
I walked back into the house and met Trevor sitting on the couch with us eyes on the television and the pack of chocolate beside him.
I sat beside him raising the pack of chocolate into my hands.
“What is wrong with him?”
“Him, who?” I asked back.
“Your boss of cos,”
“Oh! You mean Mr Blackwell,”
“He is good,”

“why?”
“He acted like he have a personal issue with me, he didn’t even return my greetings,”
1 chuckled “1 get a lot of that treatment”
“So chill.” I said tapping on his chest.
“That’s a lot to contain from a boss,”

“No darling this is the softest of Mr Hunter’s mean attitude,” I let out a smile chewing my chocolate.
“He can do worse than what you’ve encountered.”
Enough of my boss, let’s enjoy the movie, we focused more on the movie and concluded it.
I went into the kitchen and returned with two cups of green tea.
We were enjoying the delight of the tea when Trevor chased the silent moment.
“I’ve been meaning to ask you,” he muttered
“Okay, go ahead, what is it?” With the whole of my attention on him.
“What do you think about a proper relationship with me? I like you a lot. I want to be more than just a friend” his gaze stamped on me.
I listened to what he had to say with my hand stirred the green tea.
I took a sip.
“Hey, Trevor, you are a great man. I must admit your personality is golden and I admire. that, diving into a proper relationship with you is something I would love to.” I said with a smile spread on my face.
But deep down inside of me I know I don’t like him to the point of a proper relationship, yes I enjoyed his company and presence.
I was wallowing in loneliness and boredom when he showed up at my doorstep this morning with a pack of my favorite chocolate.
He knew a lot of things about me that I didn’t tell him myself, Inez has been the one feeding a lot about me.
His presence brightened my mood but the feeling of loneliness was still hovering.

“My last relationship failed because of the nature of my job, I’m still an employce in the same organization with the same job description and responsibility,” I explained with
concern.
“You told me that you’ve dropped your resignation letter and it’s more than a month now,” he reminded me.
“Yea about that I received an email this morning for the HR stating that my resignation is pending until my training replacement is declared qualified by Mr Hunter,” I explained with my hand adjusting my hair.
He sat there quietly listening to all I have to say
“Since my last relationship ended I haven’t tried any yet because of the nature of my work, I don’t get time to go out and meet new people, so have had no toaster for a very long time.” I continued.
“But I think it would not harm to give us a try” he suggested
“Yes it will not, “I reassured.
“But let’s take it slowly one step at a time,” I added
“Yea,” he nodded in agreement.
“Hope you’re good?” He asked, glancing at his wristwatch.
“I guess this is the point where I say good night?” he said with a sly smile revealing his playful side.
“Yea I’m good and all praise and thanks to you for making my day a brighter one,” I said pointing at him.
“I probably would have been at the hospital by now receiving man–made antidepressants but you showed up with your natural talent and brightened all the shades of darkness that were around me.”
He laughed so loudly which made him look even more finer.
“Your words can melt the rocky heart of a king, you know that right?”
“I get that a lot,” I said jokingly
“You’re really fun to be with” he added

I’m really fun to be with. I know that too but that was before I lost myself living another man’s boring life.
Talking about boring I have never seen Mr Hunter doing anything fun, at least none that I can remember.
Sailing is the only fun so far, he still does work even while sailing.
“Alright your highness ma’am permit me to get going,” he teased standing up from the couch.
“Thank you for hosting me.”
It was his first time coming to my house so was Mr Hunter.
He hugged me and gave me a peg on my forehead.
“Goodnight,”
“Night,” I replied.
I walked him to the door and walked back into the room, closing the door.
Uhh..today was a long day I thought.
I cleared up the sitting room and went into the kitchen with the empty cups
and leftover chocolate.
I washed the cups and placed the chocolate in the fridge.
I showered and went straight to bed.
I had occasionally avoided the thought of Hunter while Trevor was here.

Because I thought that he deserved the best of my attention that I could give him.
He left what he was doing when Inez called him and told him that I was down after she saw me on video call, she gave him my address and he showed up at my doorstep as soon as he could.
The look on Hunter’s face displayed in my head, he looked so pissed.
He looked like he had not eaten anything since money and because I was absent today he didn’t wear a suit to work.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I exclaimed, realizing how important I must be to him that my absence courses a whole lot of unpleasant changes.
