Alexis’s POV
“Hello mum.”
“Hello Alexis,”
“How are you, hope all is fine that you’re calling by this time of the day?”
“Mum all is not fine oo, I’m at Hunter’s place and we had a fight
“What’s the cause of the fight?”
“Mum do you know that Hunter compares me to his assistant,”
“No… I raised him better than that and why would he compare you to a commoner?
“I will talk to him.”
“You sound like you have been crying.”
“It feels like I’m not welcome here, he has been ignoring me,”
“It’s been a while since he touched me and I’m suspecting he’s seeing someone.”
“Calm down Alexis dear I will talk to him,”
“Just wipe your tears, you know Hunter dare not to disrespect me,”
“Mother you should talk him or I will just involve my parents,”
No no no you don’t stress your parents with this, I can handle it myself,”

I sat in the bed with my heart boiling, the memory of when I came into the penthouse and met them in a compromising position replayed in my head.
The way he looks at her lustfully and how they are always together left me wondering.
I sat in the king size bed waiting for him to show up..
He doesn’t even touch me anymore.
Hmm..
In the depth of my despair, It dawned on me that Hunter is not the type to apologize so I stood up from the bed and went into the living space.
I didn’t find him there, I picked up a bottle of water from the fridge and headed to his reading space. I’m sure he will be there because it’s past gyining hours.
I was right, I found him staring at his phone.

I’m locked in his red eyes.
“Are you okay?” I asked as calmly as I can.
“You look so tense,”
I went close to where he was sitting and placed my hand on his shoulder.
“If it’s about what happened earlier I’m sorry,”
“I really am sorry for everything,”
“Mom called me, you have already called her to report what happened?” his eyes locked in mine.
“Why will you do that?”
“We are adults not some children let’s learn to handle our issues without involving a third party,”
“I..I’m sorry I was just hurt that you compared me to Eden, I stuttered.
“It’s okay,” he said.

I giggled and hugged him from the side,
“Then come to bed with me,” I whispered into his ear.
“I have some work to finish up I will join you soon,”
“No, you, not coming to bed right now with me, means we aren’t cool, so please, be sure to come to bed with me now.” I

“Okay after you, “he said, gesturing with his hands.
We went into the bedroom and he went into the bathroom to refresh, he freshened up and came out of the bathroom.
He came to bed and lay right beside me, I stretched out my hands towards him for a cuddle, he tried to take my hands off
him.
“Hey I told you already that I’m tired,” he reminded me, lifting my hands off his body.
“No baby, it’s nothing, let’s just cuddle and sleep,” I assured him that it’s nothing.
He lit off the room and darkness filled it, the darkness got thicker.
I rolled on the bed and motioned my hand to feel his presence but I didn’t feel him by my side. I opened my eyes halfway. he still wasn’t there so my eyes opened fully and there was still no glimpse of him.
I lit up the room and reached out for my phone to check the time, it was six am on a Sunday morning.

I went out of the bedroom to the living space but he wasn’t there, I was about to check him at the gym space.
“Hello, good morning Alexis,” Eden greeted me from behind.

“How was your night?”
“Fine, thank you,” she answered with a smile.
“How was the wedding yesterday?” I enquired.
“It was stressful but it was worth the stress,” a grin played at the corner of her mouth.
I walked away to the gym space and she headed into the kitchen
I stood by the entrance admiring his body buildup.

“For how long have you been staring,” he startled
“So long to notice how well built your body is,” we both chuckled
“Good morning handsome, hope you slept well?”
“Yea I did.”
I kissed his lips.
Eden just walked in,” I informed him.
“Oh she’s here?” he asked
“Yes, she’s,
I noticed his face brighten at the sound of that.
“You seem to be happy at the sound of that,”
“Wh..what?” He stuttered.
“I’m happy that she’s available today because we have a lot of work to do and she’s in the right position to handle it,”
He walked out of the gym space with beads of sweat on his face and headed into the kitchen.
*Good morning sir,” Eden greeted him.
She was chopping veggies.
“Morning Eden, how was your night?”
“And how was the wedding. I gave you lots of missed calls with no call back,”
“I’m sorry, I was just busy, and by the time we finished up it was late, I thought you would be resting by then and I wouldn’t want to distract you while you rest,” Eden explained.
He picked a bottle of water from the fridge.
“Breakfast will soon be served, Eden announced.
I eavesdropped on their conversation but still didn’t find anything suspicious.
