Chapter 43
Hunter’s POV
I was hooked in–between the thoughts of where to call in Eden and hear her out or to let her be
I cannot break myself to agree that Eden made mistake with the salty coffee and spicy pasta the other day at the penthouse
I was still in–between a confusing thought as to why mysterious things keep happening.
To think that I have fallen head over heels for her.
I breath deeply..
Should I just assume that she don’t love me as much as I do? or does she think I’m playing her?
Eden has proven to be a noble employee that is hardworking and intelligent, over the years she has proven to be so competent with her work.
She has never for one in the past few years made such silly mistakes as in the recent passed days.
Could she be sick? Or is she passing through some stress? Trillions of questions rush in my head.
I’m not the type to assume things
Assumptions they said, “is a deadly virus that has ruined so many homes and relationships.”
Afterall most assumptions has turn out to be a lie
Chasing thought inside my head, I decided to call her in and hear her reason to her actions.
“Hello Mr Hunter,
Samantha walked in with smiles on her face.
“Hey, hi,”
“Your coffee sir.”
“Thanks Sam.”
“Sir are you fine?”
“Yes, Sam,”
“Why”
“I noticed your countenance while you walked in this morning, plus you have been in your office all throughout the day.”
“Can I asked you a question, Sam?
“Yes, sure why not?”
She sat down and focused her undevided attention on me.
“I see you and Eden are getting close these days,”
“Yea, Eden aside been a wonderful tutor, she’s a sweet soul with a heart of gold,”

I blushed listening to her speak, I wish I could outwardly tell her that I love Eden.

“Did she in anyway mentioned to you how her weekend went?” I sipped the coffee gently.
“We have been together all through the weekend,”
“You mean Eden had been with you throughout the weekend?”
“Was she sick or something? Or was she with her boyfriend,”
“She wasn’t sick and there was no boyfriend as matter of I was the one who took her to the club,”
“We had so much fun, you really did well given her the weekend off, didn’t you noticed how she bloomed differently this morning when you walked in,” a grin played at the corner of her mouth.
I almost choked with the coffee in my mouth.
“I guess she really needed the rest,”
“She told you that I gave her the weekend off?r
“Why do you sound surprised?”
“Nevermind, thank you and please get Eden for me,”
“With all pleasure,” she left.
Am I having a sort of partial dementia that I can’t remember giving Eden the weekend off I thought and searched my memory center for stored events.
I searched and searched and searched with no results.
She walked in on me still searching my memory faculty.
The scent of her perfume lingered in the space.
I struggled to act bossy, I cannot act it effortlessly, her presence alone has such a great influence on me.
She’s the only woman I have trembled at her present, no woman has ever had such a mighty effect on me.
“Good evening,” she greeted softly.
My heart melted at the sound of he voice.
“You got me worried all through the weekend,” those weren’t the words have been meaningful ti say but the came out
anyway.
“Why?!”
“You just disappeared without calling, I even visited your apartment but you weren’t there,”
“Oh, sorry I have been trying to reach you on call but it wasn’t connecting all through.”
“I have even s
you messages but you didn’t replied any.”
1 picked my phone and began to search for her messages but there was none.

“Why then did you decide to disappear without a word, not minding how I was going to feed without you?”
“I just followed an instruction you gave through Miss Quinn,”
Everything began to make sense.
“Miss Quinn?! What instructions?”
“After you left that day, she came out of the bedroom and told that you called her to inform me to take the weekend off because you both needed privacy to bond,”
Π
“I asked why didn’t you tell me yourself while you were living or call my number directly to inform me? she said that you said my number wasn’t connecting.”
She explained further..
“And you didn’t bother to call me and confirm, I called several times but all my effort was abortive,”
“Plus I didn’t had any reason to think that Miss Quinn was lying
“Alexis told you all those things,”
“Sit.” I gestured.
I searched my phone for her number and realized that all of her numbers had been blocked.
Hmmm.. I think there must be a mix up somewhere.”
“It’s okay but you should know that I cannot risk staying a whole weekend without you,”
“About the video I’m sorry, you know I will never intentionally do anything to hurt you or the companies reputation,”
“It’s okay,”
It was late already by the time we were done with the talk and the office complex was becoming busy with people going out.
Smile spread wide across her face and a sense of calm settled over me.
“Let me go and clear my table,”
I switched off the system on my desk and walked out of the office
Eden was standing by her desk by the time I came out,
“Bye Sam,”
“Bye Eden, bye Mr Hunter,” Sam waved at us.
We walked out of the complex and there was the driver waiting in the car.
“Good evening sir, ma’am,” the driver greeted us.
“Evening
We drove out of the complex.
“Hey what’s with the snack pack in your hands?” I enquired.
“It’s a left over from the red velvet cake Sam surprised me with during lunch,”
Chapter 431
“I see you ladies are close now,”
“Yea, she’s really nice to be with.”
“Yea I noticed that to.”
“So you like red velvet cakes?”
“It is my favorite, so I decided to take the left over home and rel
She speaks so innocently and softly.
“Eden.”
“Yes,” she turned her face towards me,
I leaned my head and kissed her,
