Chapter 55
Hunter’s POV
I stopped the car a few distance from the house gate that allows me to see the gate.
Few minutes after I stopped the car, they all came out of the house with the kids. I guess they all wanted to ride Eden home.
I thought of riding closer so that I can save them the stress of driving her home but on second thought the children seem so happy, so I cannot deny them that pleasure,
So I decided to just drive behind them, my phone rang by my side, I quickly took a glance at the phone to check who the caller
I answered the phone call and focused on my riding while I listened to what she had to say.
“Hello handsome.”
“Hi”
“I’m home but you’re still not back, are you sleeping over at the mansion?”
“No, I’m on my way driving back to the penthouse,”
“Okay, handsome,I will be right here waiting for your arrival,”
“Okay,”
“You should have told her that you will be sleeping over at the mansion you dummy, it would have bought you more time to spend with Eden,” I scolded myself as I dropped the call.
My eyes were fixed on their car all the while.
Their car stopped and Eden came out of the car waving them goodbye. I watched her go into the compound and dialed her number.
“Hey, you must have really had a good time with your sister and her family?”
“Yes I did,”
“I saw it on their faces how they were very happy while getting into the car especially the children,”
“Wh what?” she stuttered.
“Where are you?”
“Outside your apartment,”
“For how long have you been standing there?”
She came out of the compound, with her phone still glued to her ears and her mini hand purse on the other side.
She hung up the call and came closer to the car, I wind down the driver side window glass to get a proper view of her.
“For how long have you been here?” she chuckled.
I didn’t say a word, I just stared at her as she talked.

“Wait, don’t tell me that you followed us from Ruby’s place,”
I stared at her and out of my gaze she realized that her thought was right
“No way,” her brows crinkled up in surprise.
My eyes blazed with intensity as I looked at her, I was void of words and in my silence her presence I reacted strongly, every fiber in me shivering in her presence.
“What,” she snapped her fingers across my face,
“I just can’t get over you,”
“Are you coming in or you gonna just stand here and stare at me
“I’m not complaining…” The ringing tone coming from my phone interrupts my talk.
I took a glance and saw that it was Alexis calling again.
“Why don’t you pick up your call,” she said while the phone rang for the second time.
“It’s Alexis she’s in the penthouse house waiting for me,”
“Oh, she is?”
Hmunm……
“Then I guess you should start going, you know as a gentleman you shouldn’t keep a lady waiting.”
Naturally I was expecting her to act otherwise but her act now got me thinking,
“Hoop in let’s go to the penthouse together,”
“No way.”
“Do you want Miss Quinn to get suspicious about us?”
“It is best you go and be with her,”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,” she reassured me

“Start going before it gets darker,” she cuts off my words.
She gave me a soft and quick kiss on my cheek and tapped my shoulder twice with her palm.
“Move the car,” she whispered with a display of a smile on her lips.
She stepped aside, giving me a way.
“Good night,”
“Night,”
I watched her get into the compound and drove off, after a few miles of ride, I arrived at the penthouse,

I parked the car in the parking lot and rested my whole body on the car seat.
Ugh… I sighed audibly, rubbing both my palms on my face.
I took a deep breath in and out, a vague thought of whether Eden loves me or not came pounding in my head.
1 shoved the thought off and inhaled a deep breath.
I came out of the car and went into the penthouse.
“Hey handsome, finally you’ve home, welcome,”
“Thank you.”
“We need to talk,”
Whatever it is that you have to say can wait, she whispered under her breath, gluing her body to mine.
“We need to talk.” I tried to pull her off my body but her grip was hard on me and i’ll not want to hurt her.
“It can wait baby.”
“No. Alexis we need to talk,” I sounded more serious.
“Okay, let’s sit then or are we going to talk while standing?”
“What is it that can’t wait?”
“Do you think that by telling my mom whatever happened between us will make me fix a wedding date?” “How do you expect me to get married to you when you do not know how to take care of a house, you don’t cook…” “Wait Hunter, are you expecting me to do the house chores myself and ruin my nails, what are the maids for?” “I don’t want a maid, so the earlier you realize that and adjust the better for we both and everyone else,” “You know, I think what we should be talking about now is your illicit affair,”

“It’s just your suspicion and you talking my mom to it is wrong cost that is no assurance that you’re right with your suspicion

“Because if I should find out that my suspicion is right and confirm the woman involved,”
“I will rain brimstones and fire in her, my wrath will be unleashed in her, because I cannot sit back and watch another
