Chapter 6
I stood up regretfully and walked towards the exit.I felt like the earth beneath me should open and bury me into its deepest part, amidst all this feeling a part of me trembled with fear as to how my boss would react to the whole scene when it’s just the two of us
Hmm…I sighed deeply
“Are you okay?” Mr Hunter asked with a soft yet tender tune
“Eden” he called out, touching me from the sile as though waking me up from
slumber.
“Ye…yes sir” I stammered
“Are you okay?” He questioned
“Yes sir, I’m o..kay” I answered hoping he would say no more
“Mr. Hunter” a voice called from behind
The sound of that call gave me goosebumps and left me wondering what more trouble my mum is about to add to the one I’m facing already.
“Yes, how can I help you?” he answered, turning around to attend to the caller
As she approached him,my stomach chunned with anxiety at the same time hoping a day like this hadn’t existed, because my mum can be so dramatic and Mr.hunter easily
gets angry
This is a moment I would never have hoped for my enemy, let alone myself
In this case my mum is the petrol while Mr. Hunter is the spark, living them in the same space is dangerous and disastrous to my entire existence, I thought fearfully with my whole sense organs stamped on them
“Hello, thank you for stopping by our house” mum said with a smile tugged on her lips
“Hope you enjoyed the lunch?“she questioned with an eager tune that was filled with hopes of getting a mind blowing response
“Yes ma’am” he answered
I stood there not knowing what to do. It felt like my legs were hung in the air, I began to feel dizzy, which made me see the world moving in circles.
Chapter 6
Tue, Oct 8
“Are you okay Eden?” Trevor asked as I struggled to open my eyes
“You should get some rest, you don’t look well,” he added without waiting for my reply.
A part of me was hoping that my boss had left already,my thoughts of hope were distracted by the sound of approaching footsteps.
“Eden,what is the matter?” A voice asked
I looked up to see where the voice was coming from low and behold it wasn’t from someone I didn’t expect.
Before I could reply. Ruby interrupted
“Here drink some water it will help you relax” Ruby said handing over the glass of water to Trevor who has been standing by my side from I don’t remember when

I managed to sit up with the help of Ruby, I stretched out my hand to get the from Trevor as he gently handed over the glass of water in his hand to me
I collected it with a sense of appreciation and gently drank the water
Ruby was right, the water helped me relax and before anyone else could notice I’m back on my feet
At Least a part of me was happy that the whole scenario separated my mom and Mr. Hunter from further conversation that has ninety nine point ninety nine percent chances of landing me into more trouble than I think I’m in already.
The sound of Mr Hunter’s phone breaks the silent as he walked out of the room to attend to his call, I was hoping it wasn’t work related so i don’t have to live with him, just then it dawned on me that I’m involved in everything that Mr Hunter is involved in even his relationship
“Hmmm“I sighed deeply
Ruby had left to be with her kids, I was left alone with Trevor who had been trying to get my undivided attention all through the lunch time, the moment he was about to, that was when Mr Hunter showed up from nowhere.
‘Hi, hope you feel better now?” He enquired in a concerned and calmed tone
“Yeah I feel better now” I replied.
“Thank you for the care and concern you showered on me earlier I really appreciate” with my both hands clapped together as a show of appreciation

“Do you mind if I take you out on a dinner date?” He asked.

“I know you’re busy but if you can spare an hour or two for us to get to know each other, I will really appreciate it and I promise you will not regret it” he added with his right arm crossed on his chest and a flash of smile on his lips.
I liked the way he sounded so gentle and soft
“Okay I will squeeze out time for us next weekend, hope it’s okay by you?” I replied
“Next weekend is perfect,” he said with a smile waved on his face, which I couldn’t help but notice
“I promise to make it a worthwhile moment” he added
“I have to start going because it’s evening already. I have other things to attend to” he said as though he was seeking my permission
“Okay, thank you for coming,we really appreciate your presence“i assured him
As he approach the exit,the scent of his perfume lingered in the air, as i fixed my gazed on his well crafted body until I could sight him no more
The horn of Mr Hunter’s car sank into my cars, I stood up and peepped through the window,saw his car living the compound
I thought for a while of what would’ve made him live without me
“Ugh…”
I took my handbag that was sitting on the bed and walked out of the room to the sitting
room
“Good bye, drive safe see y’all at the next family lunch date” mum said with her hand waving them good bye
Few minutes after they left my ride arrived I stood up and went to the couch where mum was sitting, I leaned and gave her a hug, I deeped a kiss on her chin.
“Good bye mum” I whispered.
“Goodbye my darling Eden,” she replied.
“Ugh..” I sighed in relief as I sat in the car

As the car ride down the road the whistling of air sneaking in got me lost in thought
What will be Mr Hunter’s action? When next we meet, How will he react to me? I had a thousand and one question racing through my mind.
