Chapter 7
With my head resting on the headrest of the car seat, I traced my handbag with my hand. Still struggling to get my phone out when the cab driver interrupted.
“We’ve arrived at your destination ma’am” he said humbly.
I peeped through the window to be sure as I stretched out my hand to the door handle.
“Thank you” 1 said going out of the car.
1 got my phone out of the bag and read the message that said.
“We go sailing tomorrow.”
Hmmm….what a life I have 1 whispered in my head.
Got into my room, rested my head on the couch, and began to see everything that conspired throughout the day as though a replay of a disc.
I stood up from where I was laying and went into the shower, with every drop of water on me I felt a sense of relief and calm covering me.
Under the shower it feels as if all my anxieties d fear are being washed away by each drop of water.
“Ah this feels so good” I whispered to myself.
I stood before the mirror in the bathroom, I couldn’t help buce how pale and sick I looked, deep down I knew I needed a very good rest with zero interruptions.
A part of me battled with the thought of living Mr Hunter and Samantha the new assistant in the same space, the thought of seeing the both of them together arose an unpleasant weird feeling.
Samantha was still receiving training from me because it was part of the agreement that whenever I’m resigning I will have to train a new assistant.
Snapped out of that thought and went straight to bed, picked up my phone to check through my email and other notifications that might be work related.
My phone began to rang.
“He..hello sir” I said with a trembling voice.
“Hello Eden, hope you got my mail” he asked from the other end.

Chapter 7
“Yes sir I did‘ 1 answered instantly.
“Okay see you tomorrow then” he said and hung up the call before I could say anything.
“Ewwww” I expressed audibly irritated by his action.
I leaned my back to the bed staring at my phone, expecting him to call back and ask how I was feeling? And even maybe say a very goodnight wish to each other.
The loud barking of my neighbor’s dog, called me out of my world of fantasy, then I realized I was still on my shower towel.
1 stood up and walked carefully because I had a slight feeling of discomfort, got my night rope, put it on and walked back into bed.
1 layed in bed for some time with so many thoughts flashing through my mind, I got tasty and went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water.
I came back to my room with the bottle of water in my hand, sat at the edge of the bed, instantly I began to feel iny head aching.
I moved myself gently to reach my bedside drawer for a painkiller, which I took on a daily basis due to stress.
After taking the dose of painkiller, I gently traced the bedside switch fixed at the top right hand corner of my bed to switch off the light.
I laid in my bed staring into the darkness as it got darker and thicker.
The thought of our last sailing experience which was my first came visiting.
It was a mix of excitement, awe, and a touch of nervousness for me.
The feeling of the wind on my skin, the sound of the waves, and the sight of the wide open sea created a sense of fear in me. The rhythm of the waters was pleasing to the
ears.
With all the feeling of fear and discomfort 1 still couldn’t hold back my praise for
nature.
“Nature is beautiful“I whispered to myself.
I could remember how my heart beats so fast with every step I took closer to the yacht. I also remembered how Mr Hunter noticed my nervousness and asked if that was my first time sailing.

After assuring him that it was my first time he gave me assurance of safety and comfort which made me relieved, he held my hand as we walked into the yacht.
It all went darker and quieter until the sound of my alarm overshadowed the silence, stretched out my hand to get the phone and stopped the alarm.
I opened my eyes, directed my hand to light up the room, sat on the bed with my back leaning on the backrest of the bed, went through my emails and notifications.
Didn’t find anything new so I reached out for the light. The whistling of air, the swirling of birds and the sirens coming from far across the street was all I could hear.
I laid properly hoping to relax a bit more before I begin to prepare for the sailing.
A part of me was advising I start getting set immediately because Mr Hunter didn’t say a specific time we are going. So he can call me at any time and expects me to show up immediately.
1 Ignored that advice with the knowledge that it was the best but I ignored it anyway.
I sighed deeply and relaxed on the bed, a few minutes later it got darker and the darkness became thicker.
The sound of my phone ringing woke me up as reached out for the phone.
“Hello Eden” a soft masculine voice said from the other end.
“Hi…..“I replied.
“How was your night?” he questioned.
“My night was not bad,” I answered.
“Trevor is that you?” I asked. Guessing from the sound of his voice.
“Wow!” He sounded surprised wondering how I knew he was the one because we didn’t get to exchange contact the previous day.
It was just a guess and it turned out to be a lucky one. I hope this is a sign that today will be a good day because I hardly get lucky with guesses.
“Hello, are you there?” he interrupted my thoughts of hope.
“Yes, am here,” I answered.
“Hope you feel better now?” He asked in a concerned tone.

“Yes, thank you. I really appreciate the care you showered on me yesterday,” I answered. “You indeed are a geritleman,” I added.
“Hey, these are common things we do for friendship, I am sure if I was the one going, through the same thing as you were, you would do more than I did.”he said.
Just amidst our conversation, I received a text message that left me with a feeling of anxiety.
“Okay beautiful, let me get going I have a meeting this morning with a client, do have a good day.” Trevor said.
“You, have a good day too,” I replied in a nervous tune as I hung up the call.
Immediately I stood up from my bed with trembling feets and went into the shower without checking the message I received early
1 knew it would be from no other person but my boss.
It was the shortest time someone had stayed in the bathroom I thought.
I looked up on the line of clothes on the hanger and didn’t even have the chance of choosing. I directed my hand and picked up anything to the reach of my hands.
I went before the dressing mirror to apply lotion to my skin, which I did as fast as I could.
Picked up my phone from the bed with trembling hand and my heart pounding fast in my chest,I tapped onthe message notification to read it.
“Ughhh” I let out a loud sigh of relief and and comfort.
