Eden’s POV
1 belched again as I dropped the bottle of water.
“Excuse me. pardon my manners,”
“It’s okay.”
“I really enjoyed the meal, you’re a wonderful cook,”
“Thank but I’m not as good as you are.”
“You know I think you should start a restaurant,”
“Yea, it a part of my dream to have my own restaurant.”
“You know my Dad is a chef, I learnt everything I know about cooking from him,”
“You learnt from the best, huh?”
“You can say t
that,”
*So tell me where did you learn to cook?”
“My mom was a very good cook before she passed away. She used to own a local food spot and that was what she used to sponsor me through school before I gained scholarship into one of the best universities,” she explained.
“Im sorry about your mom.”
“Nah..it’s okay.”
“So what is bothering your pretty head?” she asked, her voice filled with concern.
“When I went out yesterday after work for a drink I met with Hunter in the same bar, the feeling was awkward and the atmosphere lost it’s comfort the moment our gaze locked,”
“I can imagine,” her brow crinkled up in surprise.
“As if that wasn’t enough, I woke up to a call by an unknown number this morning, the caller has a very scary and intimidating voice.”
“What about the caller?”
“The caller warned me to stay away from hunter and even sent me a photo of me and Hunter together,”
“He did?”
“Yes, he did,”
“Did you bother calling back?”
“I thought of it but I cannot call back because it was an unknown ID he called with,”
True, you mentioned it,”
“It got me so scared, you don’t know how many times I used the joilet since then,”

“I think Alexis knows about my relationship with Hunter, because she has been acting up lately.”
“What do you i want to do?”
“I’m confused and scared my life might be in danger,”
“Have you talked to Hunter about it?”
“No, the call happened this morning plus I don’t think there’s need telling him,”
“You know what I think?”
“What?!”
She held my hand into hers and gently squeezed them.
“I think you should talk to Hunter about it, I’m sure he will be able to protect you,

She nodded her head and close her eyes halfway showing assurance, “Yes you should,”
“Okay, I will, thank you Sam,”
Since Inez got married, I found myself a new friend in Sam.
“You’re welcome,” a grin crept across her face.
I made a shrinking movement of my body out of
pain.
“Time flies, it’s almost evening,
“Yea, I just noticed,”
“I didn’t realize we spent this much time talking” she said.
Suddenly a phone beeped.
She looked around for her phone.
“Where is the sound coming from?” she asked.
I checked my phone and there was nothing
“It’s not mine, I guess it’s yours,”
“Mine? Where did I keep it?”
The sound came from that direction,” I pointed at her hand bag.
She stood up and went to get the phone.
Her countenance switched to the opposite, as her eyes rolled on the phone.
“What is it? Why is your face like that?”
She took slow steps with the phone still in her hands and her eyes moving on it to where I was sitting.

“My date for today, canceled, she announced as she sat.
“What?”
“The date that was supposed to go with me to Alexis‘ birthday just sent me a message canceling our agreed meeting,” her voice filled with disappointment as she spoke.
“Did he give his reasons?”
“He only stated in the message that something came up, with no specification on what the reason was,”
“Is he your boyfriend? I’m sorry to have asked when I should know that he is your boyfriend,”
“He is not my boyfriend,” she said.
My eyes opened wide in surprise and 1 looked at her with disbelief.
“Who is he then?”
Just a random person I don’t know much about,” she confessed
“I don’t have a boyfriend.”
“You don’t, what?” I asked in so much surprise.
“Yea. I’m boyfriend less, if there’s a word like that,”
“You look like someone in a perfect relationship.”

“I have not been lucky with relationships, it has ruined and shattered me and made me scared of commitment so i decided to just be with random men for fun with string attached.”
I listened to her carefully as she spoke.
“I understand, so that is why you always mentioned that you dont believe in love.”
“Yea,
“Let me call someone to see if he will be available,”
“Okay,”
She dialed the number.
“Hey.hi I was thinking if you would be available can you be my partner to a birthday party?”
“Oh..yea the birthday is a few hours away,” she said i guess he asked when is the birthday.
“It’s okay, thank you,” she hung up the call.
“He isn’t available,”
“I guess, nature doesn’t want me to attend the birthday,” she said with disappointment.
“I cannot think of anyone else again.”
“You will be going to the party with or without a partner, we will go together,”
“I will dress to kill so that I can as well snatched someone else’s partner just for the party,” she said jokingly.

“You silly head,”
“I know right,”
“Can I have some of those spaghetti again, I’m hungry already,”
“You don’t look like someone that bathed today, your hair looks unkempt,”
“Yea, you’re right I didn’t bath today.”
“Eewwww,”
“What?!”
“Nothing.I will go and get you a portion of the spaghetti,
“No I will dish it myself
“I insist,”
“Fine, let’s go to the kitchen together,”
“Okay.”
“We went into the kitchen and dished the meal”
Before Sam county
inty finished dishing her meal, I ate quite a portion of mine in the kitchen.
She turned and looked at me with her mouth opened, “There will be no need going to eat elsewhere since e your meal is halfway gone,”
“We can as well just eat here and washed the dishes before we start preparing for almighty Alexis birthday.”
“You know I have never seen anyone get so worked up over a birthday celebration, she took it so seriously that for the past few weeks she talks of nothing other than her birthday,” Sam added.
“I wonder how she will do when it’s a wedding,”
“She has the money and Alexis is the flashy type,”
We washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen sparkling
We walked out of the kitchen and went straight into the bedroom
“Have you tried this on?” She asked, picking up the gift box from the office
“No,”
“Why?”
She was about to hit me with so many talks when she sighted a different gift box sitting on my bedside cupboard.
Yo!!
Wow!! She exclaimed as she gradually brought up the cloth in the box.
“It was bought yesterday by Trevor,”

“What’s with you and Trevor though?”
“It’s nothing serious between us, that’s all I can say,”
“You know back then in the office I noticed how Hunier reacts whenever he sees him around you,”

“Yes, he is a nice guy I must say, but Hunter is nicer,” a smile displayed across her face.
