I was engulfed by bitterness as I sat on the floor, with the voices of people calling me names resounding in my head.
“Silly commoner.” Alexis voice came resounding in my head,

My eyes flooded with bitterness and guilt. I glanced around the room, swallowing hard.

I couldn’t sleep all through the night, the moment I closed my eyes the experience at Alexis‘ birthday care hunting me.

My lite and career is at stake, and I’m sure that Hunter will not choose me over Alexis, in the heat of things, it’s obvious she has more advantage to him financially than I do, all those words of promises he rained into my ears, I know were just empty words with none that he really meant.
Tears streamed down my cheek, hs so many hard to believe vague thoughts ran through my mind.

I looked at her with my swollen and heavy eyes.
She looked with disbelief, how I messed up the living space with pieces of tissues. She picked the empty packs of tissues laying on the floor and shook them. I guess she wanted to be sure what had happened.
“All these packs are empty,” she announced.
“Eden you don’t look good at all, I didn’t even realize when you left me on the bed to come down here,”
“You don’t look like you have gotten a second of sleep,”
We were both all awake until three am when I pretended to be sleeping so that she could rest because it wasn’t looking like she would get any sleep if I didn’t.
I sneaked out of the bed the moment I realized she was deep into sleep.
Tears kept running down my eyes, and my heart kept pounding heavily in my chest.
Sam sat down beside me, crossing her arm around my shoulder.
“Hunter just called to ask if I know where you are?”
“Hope you didn’t tell him anything?” I asked with a breaky voice:

“Eden, I told Andrew about the unknown caller and is sure that is why Hunter is worried, plus I think he is the only one in the night position to take care of you,”
“Why did you tell him that?”
“I figured that you will not have the chance of telling him at the party, so I seized the opportunity while I was chatting with Andrew and told him, Im not sorry for that after all we agreed that you were going to tell him.”
“How he gets to know doesn’t matter the most important thing is that he knows,”
Her confidence and boldness were so annoying but at the same it feels good to have someone that can do things for you effortlessly

“I don’t think Hunter will be able to protect me, because his mom will be fully involved in this and you know even him doesn’t have a say over his mother, afterall she is the mastermind behind his engagement to Alexis,” I said with fear welling up in me, my stomach churned with anxiety as i talked about his mom.
“Eden please the crying is enough, besides there’s no more tissues in the house,”
“You don’t look good at all, your whole face is swollen,” she said with so much concern.
“Let me get my phone, I can hear it ring from here,” Sam said and stood up.
“Oh, Eden! My heart goes out to you! You’re going through so much pain and hurt right now. It’s like the whole world is against you, and you feel so alone and vulnerable,”
“Ruby?!” I was surprised.
“But please know that you’re not alone, Sam is there for you, and she’s trying her best to support and comfort you,” she continued.
