Hunter’s POV
I walked out of the apartment, feeling frustrated and lonely, because the only woman my heart wants is not willing to be by
I knew that she was hurt but I didn’t expect her to hold on to it this long, well maybe she didn’t hold up to it, but I couldn’t help but feel like she was being stubborn. I apologized, and promised to make it right by her and to protect her from Alexis What more did she want from me?
As I stepped out into the cool evening air, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that I was losing her. Really losing her. And it was tearing me apart.
I thought back to the first day she walked into my office, how she had sparkled and shined like a diamond in the rough. I had been drawn to her light, her voice, her beauty, and now, it was all slipping away from me.
I held for long what I felt for her, I intentionally made her schedules so tight and everything revolved around, so that I will always be by her.
I knew I had made mistakes by not controlling myself. I blew things out of proportion and Alexis gave to find out this way, she was going to find out anyways.
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair, feeling the weight of my mistakes bearing down on me. I had never felt so lost, so alone. I didn’t know how to fix this, how to make her feel safe, she looked so scared.
As I walked away from her apartment, I knew I had two choices, give up or fight harder. And I was determined to fight, to prove to Eden that our love was worth saving
I picked my phone out of my pocket and dialed Alexis‘ number.
After a few rings, she answered the call.
“Hello Alex,
“You are pushing me, stop already with all the stunt

are pulling, you won’t like it when I retaliate.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Did you pay people to trail me around? If anything happens to Eden you will not like what I will do to you,”
“You cannot do anything.”
“The earlier you come to the fact that it’s Eden I so uuu u àlove the better for all of us, Alex, we both know you don’t love me, so why the stress then? And that you agree to marry me for the firm and benefits attached”
“Hunter, there’s nothing you will say that will make me backup, is only our marriage happening next weekend that will make me back down on all I got for that bitch,” she said with so much bitterness,”
“You will not call Eden names to my hearing, I didn’t marry you all this while what made you think that i will now?”
“Let’s settle this in a more matured way,I’m ready to accept the fault that will come from both our families and the society.”
“I will give you whatever to want, name your price,” I offered
“Stop with all the scandals it will not make me get married to you,”
“Oops Hunter darling. I have told you the one thing that will make me have a change of mind, so darling stop the stress and

“Alexis, stop inaking this things look serious while it’s not,”
She chuckled “Call me when you’re ready,”
She hung up the call, auger swelled in me as I thought of how a tle girl like Alexis will hung call on me, bitterness grew in me, how dare her temper with my manly ego?..
The once cold evening is now warm and all I could think of was how to deal with Alexis to give her the exact cut of disgrace and shame she asked for
I went into the car and drove off to the penthouse,
“Hey buddy Andrew called.
“Hi. I didn’t notice you were there,” I said.
“You walked in pissed, is everything alright? How is Eden?”
“Bro. Alexis is pushing me and she will not like what I will do to her,” I said angrily,
“Yo! Man calm down, what exactly was it that happened?” he said, gesturing with his hand.
I sat on the couch beside him and began to explain.
“Bro, Eden is scared, when I look into her eyes I see nothing but fear, I feel like there’s something more than just Alexis internet scandals that has instinct so much fear in her,”
“Really, I thought of that too, but what could that be?”
“That is what I’m still yet to wrap my hand around, and she’s not willing to say,”
“Did you know that just this evening, a blogger published a paper with a picture of me at Sam’s doorstep, Eden fainted the very moment she found out about it,” I added
“She made mention of something about a threat to her life, those dots are not connecting, frustration lingered in the atmosphere as I spoke.
Andrew quietly listened to all I have got to say.
“I need to find out whatever it is, I feel like there’s something I’m missing on in this whole thing, plus Alexis is insisting we get married this weekend, some of our shareholders are threatening to withdraw their shares from the company, according to them the Internet scandals is no good at all,” I added.
“Bro, calm down let’s look into all this one at a time”
“About Eden, for now I don’t really have much to say but I think your mom..,”
“My mom!! you’re right how come I didn’t think of her,” I cut his talk.
How did I not even think of my mom, of course she can do the unexpected.

“You’re right, but she has refused to come to the penthouse, I think she will be safe here, right?”

That is one of the problems I have in making Decisions, in the heat of chaos, thanks to nature that Andrew happened to be here in the midst of all this.
He is the perfect man to help in this situation, I thought with a wave of calm settling in me.
