Chapter 81
Hunter’s POV
In the cold breeze of Wednesday morning I drove into the Blackwell’s mansion, the house was busy as most of the domes staff were at work taking care of their respective morning chores.
“Good morning sir,” sounds in my ear as I walk past them.
I wordlessly waved at them as I walked into the house.
As I stepped into the grand foyer, the sound of my footsteps echoed off the marble floors.
The opulent chandelier above cast a warm glow, illuminating the lavish decorations and priceless’artwork adorning the walls. I made my way through the foyer, nodding curtly at the staff as they greeted me with respectful smiles.
“Good morning dad, I greeted him.
“Good morning son,” he replied, keeping aside the papers in his hand.
“Why are you here this early?” he asked as he sipped from the cup of coffee.
He seemed so calm like he hadn’t heard of all that had been happening or he didn’t understand that the company and family name he had worked hard for was at stake and most of the companies investors and shareholders are backing up. How does he manage to stay calm in the heat of the storm? I thought, with a surprise look on my face.
I was expecting the moment I walked in, I was expecting him to begin to yell and rant at me but no he was calm and even smiled at me.
Is he in the clear picture of what is happening out there? Just in the middle of my thoughts I glanced into the paper he was reading, there was a picture of myself Alexis and Eden. It dawned on me that indeed he knows everything. I silently thoug
“Son, are you okay?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m okay,”
“No you don’t look okay,”
Just then mom walked into the space.
“What are you doing here?” she asked harshly, I guess that’s her way of telling me that I wasn’t welcome since I have decided to go against her wish.
Honey!! “This is his father’s house, why would you ask him such a question?” Dad cuts in with a wide display of smile on his
face.
My father has always been the peacemaker in the house, when my mom comes up with her loads of trouble and drama.
Good morning Mom,” I greeted her

“Ahh! Honey that was so harsh,” Dad gave his honest opinion.
“I didn’t expect any better from you,” she said, giving Dad a disgusting glance.

“I will sit back and watch a child I gave birth to disrespect my decisions and destroy everything I have worked for,”

“Mom, I am an adult, I have the right to make choices, you cannot be making decisions for me, it’s Eden I love, afterall from the initial you forced me in to agreeing to marry Alexis against my will,”
“And what made you think that I cannot force you now to marry her against your will, as I have always done?”
“I am grown down and I want to make my choices and take responsibility, so mother I think it’s time you respect my decision,”
“If that commoner is your decision, then over my dead body will I watch that decision of yours ruin everything I and your father had worked hard for,” she fiercely sounded and the voice echoed loud in the living space.
I’m sure at this point, the servants are eavesdropping on our conversation, dad was quietly listening to all the exchange of words between my mom and myself.
“So be it then, and stop with the life threat you’re sending to Eden,”
“Enough,” Dad sounded with so much authority in his voice.
“Enough, you both, I have heard enough of you both, do you want to scream down the house?”
“Son, you don’t talk to your mother in that manner,” he said pointing a finger at me.
“Penelope!! What’s with the threat he talked about? You think you can solve this by adding more trouble to it?” he turned to
mom.
“Allow the young man to decide for himself what he wants, if it’s about Quinn’s partnership in the company, we can always get other partners as long as our services are good,” he explained.
“If you ask me I will say, let him marry whoever he wants as far as that’s what makes him happy, our child’s happiness should be a priority,”
“There’s no way he is going to get married to that girl under my watch,” she hissed and walked upstairs.
She murmured words In her mouth as she stepped on the stairway.
Fear swells in me as I watch her go into so much anger, maybe I have done more harm than good, my mom’s temperament is such that she can go miles to see that only what she wants to happen will happen, no one dares goes against her will.
I breath heavily, as I hastily thought of what could be running through her head?
“Son, calm down, I’m sure your mom will come around,” Dad said.
I knew he only wanted me to feel better, but I know that my mom isn’t the type to come around.
“I heard that you have not been in the office for days now?”
“Dad, my brain is chaotic at the moment I need a few time off work,”
“How long is your, “A few times?”
“As long as it will take for, me to be calm and stable again,”
“Okay, while at that don’t forget that the office needs your attention to,”

“Mom, can attend to all that have a good day Dad” I said, my voice laced with mixture of sadness and resignation.
“Huhh…,” I let out an audible sigh of frustration, without any hesitation I drove out of the house, venting my anger on the car’s speedometer.
I parked the car and furiously walked into the penthouse, I met Andrew seated on the couch, his hands and attention were busy on the laptop before me.
He had decided to stay in the same space with me since the beginning of the storm and he has been very helpful in calming the storm. He does his business meetings and interviews from the house, so he is always in the house.
“How did it go at the mansion?” he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.
“Not well, you know I think you’re right my mom knows something about the life threat,”
“What did she say?”
“You know it’s not possible to have a reasonable talk with my mom, she wasn’t ready to hear what I have got like my visit stirred up her anger,”
“That is no good at all,”
“Yea I know, wassup with the blogger?”
to say,
it seems
“The blogger has been found but then she agreed to meet you but in a disguised way, you’re not going there as Hunter, not until she sees you physically but for now she doesn’t know it’s you, if not she wouldn’t have agreed to see you,” he explained.
“Thank you bro, is she? Why will she want to make her fellow woman suffer such trauma? When are we going to meet her?
“Yea, we booked a meeting for four pm this evening,”
“That’s good, you’re the best bro,”
“Have you heard from Eden?”
“She will not pick my calls and Sam told me that she left her side but didn’t let her know where she went to,”
“I hope she’s safe,” he said with a soft, concerned voice.
“Yea, I hope so, I have called her sister and friend but they all claimed not know where she is, but I know they aren’t telling me the truth, because Eden is not the type to disappear without her sister and friend knowing where she is,”
“Even Sam, I’m sure she knows where she’s, they just don’t want me to know, which is fine by me for now but I will surely find her hideout,” I said with assurance.
“Yea,” he nodded in agreement.
My phone beeped in my pocket, I dipped into my pocket and brought out the phone to check what the notification was for.
“Noway, this is the height of it,”
