“This is the height of it all, my mom she’s really pushing me,”
“What mother doesn’t prioritize her child’s happiness? This woman is bent on frustrating me,”

Alex is she seriously agreeing to marry a man that doesn’t love her?”
“You know what baffles me the most is the fact that she doesn’t love me but I still cannot wrap my head around why she is bent on the marriage,”

“There’s a guy she was already seeing before my mom came up with all the engagement stuff between me and her,”
“What if she’s done with that guy?”
“She’s not I have on several occasions seen them together, I have started investigating on them both, because I needed evidence I know it will be hard to get her agree to let go,”
“But why does she wants to marry you when it’s not you that she truly loves?”
“I don’t know that’s what I’m yet to find out,”
“So, your mom is pushing for a wedding between you and Alex, but Alex is still seeing another guy on the side. And you’re trying to figure out why she’s going along with the wedding plans when her heart belongs to someone else,” Andrew said, getting the message.
He shook his head, incredulous. “Your mom is a real piece of work, and I’m sure she knows nothing about Alexis‘ secret man, I’m sorry you’re going through this.”
“You think so?”
“I don’t think you mom will push you into marrying a woman who doesn’t love you, so all we need to do know is to gather concrete evidence and revealed to your mom that Alex doesn’t love you,”
“You think it will work that way?”
Yes it will, since it’s obvious that Alex, doesn’t want you to settle this in peace, then I guess digging out her secret affair will be the only way out,”
He paused,and we both silently thought for a moment, before he broke the silence
“Listen, Can I see the evidence you’ve gathered on Alex and her secret boyfriend? I might be able to help you make sense of this mess.”
I thought for a while, and I realized that all of the evidence I have is not solid.
“Do you have a photo of her and the guy in a compromising position or a video of them together?”
“No I don’t have all those at the moment, but I have hired a private investigator to handle that,”

“That’s great,” he said.
“Well, let’s give him to tomorrow to see what he can get, let’s have it in mind that we only have nine days to carry out whatever plans we have,”
“Yea, thanks bro,”
“You welcome,” he went into the kitchen while I sat and returned into the recesses of my thoughts.

I never wanted to make Alexis look like the bad one, I was sincerely willing to take the whole blame for our break up. I really don’t mind what society has got on it, as long as I will end up with Eden. But she’s proving to be stubborn and not willing for a peaceful settlement, I guess Andrew is right I just have to go down the same path she went to get to the bottom of all these.
Hmmm…, I let out a hefty sign.
I cannot wait for all this to be over so that me and Eden can go back to the way we used to be, I have missed her so much,
“What if Eden was saying the truth when she said that she doesn’t want anything to do with me?” A voice inside of me asked.
“No, I’m sure she doesn’t mean any of those words, she was just speaking out of fear and anger,” I muttered under my breath.
Confusion swelled in me, what if it happens that I’m just chasing shadows?, no Hunter this is not the time for all this, I know Eden loves me.
I shrugged off the thought at the sound of Andrew’s voice, “coffee,” he handed over to me a ceramic cup of coffee and cream.
“Thank you bro,”
“You welcome,”
I took a sip from the coffee and slowly adjust myself on the couch,
“So how is your company up,”
“Well we are moving, I have gotten a few persons that are will to partner and i have successfully interviewed two employees, that I think are qualified for the job,”
“That’s a good one, I think I should apply for a post in your company, because with the look of things I might be needing a new job after I have successfully gone against my mom,” I said jokingly.
“I cannot afford to employ you, you are way out of my employment league,” he teased with a smile on his face.
“Aha… I have been meaning to ask you but never got the chance to, since you’re a bit calm now I think I should ask, though it might not be the perfect time,”
“What is it? It might probably help distract me from my chaotic thoughts,”
“Sam,”
“What about Sam?”
“I think I like her,” he muttered with his voice barely above a whisper.
“Hmm… I don’t really know much about Sam, but from the few I know, i think she’s a nice person, for Eden to have trust her that much to welcome her in to her home and life, means she is a good one,”
“And I think she will be good for you, you guys seemed to have so much chemistry from the party, no one will ever think that, that was your first meeting,”

“Yea, but for now let it lay low until we have reached the bottom of you and Alexis fight,”
The doorbell buzzed in the middle of our conversation,
“Are you expecting anyone?” Andrew asked.
“No I’m not,”
“Let me get the door,” I said standing up from my seat.
“Wait! Let me be the one to get the door,”
I sat back and he went to get the door.
“Hi,”
“Hello, I recognize you to be that guy that was with Eden at the party,” Andrew said.
I turned at the sound of that, and my eyes locked on the intruder.
“You, what are you doing here?” I asked the moment I realized it was Trevor.
“Bro, I’m not here to fight,”

“Eden hasn’t been picking up my calls or replying to any of my messages, since that day I drove them to her apartment from the party,”
“I went to her apartment but she’s not here and I enquired from few of her neighbors, they said they had not seen her since that day, so i figured out that she might be here,”
you think “What made you think that you can walk in here asking for my woman, if eventually she happens to be here do that I will make you see her? Then you must be delusional, I protect what I love from dangerous prey like you. As far as I am concerned you are nothing but a lion seeking to devour her,” I said angrily.
“You know if you had not kissed her at that party, I would have stood the sight of you beside her till the end, but of course i could stand you kissing her in my face,” I moved closer to him with so much anger and fury.
I tightened my fist, ready to punch him right in the mouth if he dared spit nonsense.
“Yo! Bro, calm down,” Andrew said as he grabbed my hand, to stop me from doing whatever it is that was in my head.
“I’m not here to fight you,” he said with a gentle and calm voice.
Andrew softly squeezed my hand and I felt a wave of calm settled in me.
“Eden is not here, and don’t ask me because i don’t know where she is either,”
“You can now leave,”
Suddenly my phone began to ring, my eyes beamed when I saw an unknown number calling.
