Chapter 85
Eden’s POV
It seemed like my brother, Eli, was back in town and had been keeping tabs on me. I sighed, feeling a mix of relief and
worry.
“Eli, I’m fine, really, I promise you, you don’t need to come over, I have everything under control,” I tried to reassure him, after a moment of deep thought, but it was obvious that he wasn’t having it.
Sam gave me a look of disbelief.
“Send me the address, Eden. I’m coming to get you, and we’re going to sort this mess out once and for all,” he said, his voice firm and commanding.
“Okay, but….” I said and he ended the call, before I could say anything else.
Eden I’m curious, “Why don’t you want him involved? Someone like me I will be super grateful to have a brother or even a sibling regardless of gender that will fight for me this way,”
I looked at her with so much awe, I know she’s saying this because she doesn’t know what Eli is capable of and him getting himself involved in this means war.
Sam you will not understand, my brother can go extra miles to protect me, I’m not going to send home the address, I will just leave him hanging for now,”
“No, I don’t think that is right, you can talk more better if he comes here, so you should let him come,”
I thought for a while and saw that Sam was right. I can easily convince him to let everything slide when I get to meet him face to face, but a part of me was still confused as to what to do.
“Are you sure?” I asked with my voice barely above whisper.
I looked at Sam, who nodded encouragingly. “It’s okay, Eden. Let him come. We can use all the help we can get right now,” she said, her voice laced with concern and assurance.
I picked my phone and reluctantly sent Eli my live location, knowing that he was going to be a force to be reckoned with. And honestly, I was scared of two things, Scared of what Alexis was capable of, and secondly scared of what Eli might do when he found out what had happened and how there’s a threat to my life and our niece’s, I guess I will have to avoid him knowing that part.
As I waited for Eli to arrive, my mind raced with thoughts of what was to come. Little did I know, my life was about to take a dramatic turn.
Eli arrived at Trevor’s place, his expression stern and concerned. “Eden, what happened?” he asked, as he helped me up from the couch where I was laying, my head still hurts from the hair dragging at the mall.
I tried to explain, but the words got stuck in my throat. Eli’s eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. “Alexis did this, didn’t she?” he growled.
I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. Eli’s expression turned icy cold, his eyes blazing with determination. “Don’t worry, Eden. I’ll take care of this, No one hurts my sister and gets away with it.”
Sam stepped forward, her eyes locked on Eli’s. “Eli, be careful. Alexis is not someone to mess with, She’s got connections and the money that could hurt you and Eden even more.”
Eli’s smile was cold and calculating. “Don’t worry, Sam. I’ve got this under control. I know how to handle people like Alexis.”

Chapter 85
“Yes bro, Sam is right, let’s just let it slide, please,” I pleaded, joining my palms together.
As Eli’s words hung in the air, I felt a shiver run down my spine, and fear enveloped me. I knew my brother was capable of great things, but I also knew that he had a dark side, one that he only showed when pushed to the limit and with the look of things he is at that limit and I have to do anything I can do to stop him from fighting back.
Eli’s eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with determination. “I’ll make sure Alexis pays for what she’s done, Eden. You can count on me.”
I nodded, feeling a mix of gratitude and worry. I knew Eli would stop at nothing to protect me, but I also knew that his methods could be dangerous.
“But first things first, let’s get you home, you will be more safe there, where I can get my eyes on you two four,”
Which home?!
“To the family house of course, I have talked to Mom and Dad and they believe that you will be more safe their, and I believe so too,”
“Are you sure?”
I was scared that my presence at the house would not cost the old folks more trouble, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of trepidation.
“Eden, I know what you’re thinking of but I also think that Eli and your parents are right,” Sam interrupted my thought.
blinked my eyes, hoping that this decision I’m about to make turns out to be the best I have made since the commencement of the chaos.
“Okay fine, I will go home with you, but on one condition Eli,” I said, i prayed that whatever i will say will make Eli change his mind from fighting back.
“And what is that condition?” he asked with so much authority in his tone.
“If I will come to the house with you, then you will not fight back, you will let everything slide,”
He hesitated for a moment, “That’s if there’s no more trouble coming from that riff–raff,”
A wave of calm settled over me, “I’m sure there wouldn’t be more trouble from her end, since her wedding to Hunter is in nine days, she will focus all of her energy on her wedding preparation I guess,” I said with so much assurance on my face, while doubts swell inside of me.
“Fine then it’s okay, I agree but if any trouble should come up from Alexis‘ end, I’m personally going to deal with her,“he said, his voice entangled with determination.
I let out a sigh of relief, hoping that I had just avoided a dangerous situation. “Thank you, Eli. I appreciate it,” I said, trying to sound convincing.
“Yay!!” Sam exclaimed with so much excitement.
“Hope I get to go to the house with you?” She hastily asked.
Eli’s expression softened slightly, and he nodded. “Alright, let’s get you girls home then. Mom and Dad are waiting for us.”
As we left Trevor’s place, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. I knew that Eli’s agreement to let everything slide was conditional, and I feared what might happen if Alexis continued to provoke him.
But for now, I had to focus on getting home safely and trying to put this whole experience behind me.

Chapter 85
As we drove to the family house, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of trepidation taking over me.
My fear doubled up, every moment I remembered that Eli’s agreement to let everything slide was fragile, and I feared what might happen if Alexis continued to provoke him.
Sam noticed my uneasy state and she occasionally tapped me, trying to assure me that all will be well.
When we arrived at the house, Mom and Dad were waiting for us, their faces filled with concern. “Eden, sweetie, we’re so glad you’re safe,” Mom said, hugging me tightly.
I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. “Thanks, Mom. I’m just glad to be here.”
Dad’s expression turned stern. “We’ll get through this, Eden. We’ll make sure you’re protected.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards my family. But as we settled in for the night, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that this was far from over.
And then, just as I was drifting off to sleep, my phone buzzed. It was a text from an unknown number. “You think you’re safe, Eden? Think again.”
My heart raced as I realized that Alexis or whoever it was, was not done yet.
