Chapter 86
Eden’s POV
I felt a chill run down my spine as I read the text over and over, my heart kept racing with fear. Who could this person be?.
I tried to shake off the feeling of unease, telling myself it was just an empty threat. But the words lingered in my mind, haunting me.
Suddenly, my phone buzzed again. Another text from the same unknown number. “You can’t hide forever, Eden. I’ll find
you.”
I felt a surge of adrenaline gushing out of me as I realized that whoever this person was, Alexis has everything to do with it and it’s obvious she was not going to back down after all. She was going to keep coming after me, no matter what.
I knew I had to tell Eli. He had to know what’s going on. But as I reached for my phone, I hesitated. Would he go after Alexis again? And what if something worse happened?
I was trapped in a web of fear and uncertainty, unsure of what to do next. But one thing was clear: I couldn’t face this alone. I needed help, and I needed it fast.
I took a deep breath and decided to confide in Sam instead.
I knew he would do everything in his power to protect me, even if it meant putting himself in harm’s way or doing things that will attract lifetime consequences. I have to be careful not to worsen the situation, that means not everything that Eli should know.
I tapped Sam who was lying by my side, she woke up at one tap, as though she was waiting for my touch to kiss her skin.
“Sam, hey sorry I interrupted your sleep,” I whispered, so I don’t wake anyone else in the house.
It’s okay, do you need anything?” she asked with a cracky sleepy voice laced with concern.
I gave her my phone to see the text.
As she read the text, her expression darkened. “This is not good,” she said, her voice low and menacing.
“I guess the bitch is not going to stop until she gets what she wants.” She muttered.
“What do we do?” I asked, feeling a sense of desperation creeping in.
Sam’s eyes narrowed. “We need to tell Eli about this,”
“No Sam, Eli cannot know about this, Eli can go extra miles and make things worse than they already are, please Eli should not know about this,”
“Okay I get it, tell it to Hunter then, I’m sure he will know how to handle her better,”
It sounded like a good idea but I don’t want anything to do with Hunter again, I thought for a moment.
Hmmmm….
“What if it’s now Alexis?”
“Who could it be then, if not her?” Sam asked.
“I don’t know,” I feel that since Alexis has gotten Hunter what she wanted, why then will she keep stressing this.

“Don’t worry you are safe in her, there’s an aura of safety in here so as long as you are in here I’m sure your family will guarantee your safety,”
“So, calm down, the atmosphere here is so comforting, get some sleep. It has been like ages since the last time you got a very good sleep,” Sam said, rubbing her palm on my back.
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. With her and my family by my side, I knew I could face whatever came my
way.
As I drifted off to sleep, I felt a sense of gratitude towards Sam. She has proven to be a friend, a supportive one at that, and yes she was right, I was safe here, surrounded by people who cared about me, I smiled to myself closing my eyes to sleep.
But the questions still lingered in my mind, who was behind the threatening texts? And what did they want from me? I pushed the thoughts aside and let the comfort of the moment wash over me.
Tomorrow, I would face whatever came next, I jokingly thought, but for now, I just needed to rest.
As I fell asleep, I felt Sam’s arms wrap around me, holding me close. I knew she was there for me, and that gave me the strength to face whatever lay ahead.
The next morning, I woke up feeling a sense of determination and comfort that I have not felt for a while now. The day seemed brighter, I knew I couldn’t let the threatening texts control my life. Sam was not in the bed by the time I woke up.
I got out of bed and made my way to the kitchen. My feeling of comfort, slightly mixed with a little sense of fear that swelled in me and the mouth watering aroma coming from the kitchen.
“Good morning mom,” I greeted her, deepening a kiss on her forehead.
“Morning my darling, hope you slept well?” Mom asked with a wide spread smile on her lips.
“Yes, Mom for the first time in the past five days I have had a good sleep, I guess the saying is true, no place like home,”
“Yea right,” Sam said, with a spatula in her hand.
“You should be sleeping, by now,” Sam added.
“No, I have had enough of the sleep, why are you awake this early? You’re my guess you should be sleeping while I do the work,” I said, pouring coffee into a cup.
“And who says I’m a guess, no one treats me like me like a guess here, so ma’am as far as I’m concerned I’m not a guess,”
“You’re right Sam darling,” Mom said.
“I can you both are already getting along,”
“Yes we are,” Sam excitedly muttered.
“Sam, aren’t you going to the office?”
“Yea, Mr Hunter asked me to stay at home until he resumes work,”
“Oh, I see,”
“What’s with all the veggies, Mom?” I asked.
“They are for lunch, your sisters called, to inform me that they will be visiting together with their husbands,” she answered.
“Eden, have a taste of my pancakes,” Sam said, giving me a piece to taste.
