The door suddenly opened and Ales walked into the room. She sat up straight in surprise, the sheets falling to her waist. He usually didn’t come back home until she was fast asleep. “Alex, you’re home,” she breathed.
His eyes raked over her once more before he nodded and took a step closer to her, bridging the remaining distance between them. He brushed her hair behind her ear, an unreadable expression on his face. “Why are you still awake?”
“I couldn’t sleep. I was waiting for you” She added quietly.
He ignored her comment, or maybe he just didn’t hear her. They had been married for almost a month now, and they barely spent any time together. Alex spent his days at the office, and only came back home late at night when she was already deep asleep. And then the next morning, he was gone again before she knew it
