Uncle Mark rushed to our house, looking even
skinnier than before. He started shaking Dad.
“What are we going to do? I told my kids we
were buying a house in the city. They are
going to file for divorce!”
Dad said “What can I do? Lused the money
>
Dad said, “What can I do? I used the money
to buy houses! Now I’m broke!”
“Now someone snitched to the police, and
they took my antiques.”
Uncle Mark said, “The old lady set me up. But
you didn’t tell the police, so there’s only one
suspect.”
They rushed to Aunt Carol’s house.
Dad kicked her. “Why would you do this!”
Aunt Carol didn’t know what was going on.
She stood up and started yelling, “I gave you
the houses and antiques! What else do you
want from me!”
Uncle Mark separated them. “The city is
taking the house, and the police took the
antiques. You are the only one who has
money!”
After explaining, Aunt Carol understood.
She started laughing and said, “I knew the old lady was hiding something! Turns out she’s
setting you up from the grave!”
Uncle Mark said, “Give me half of your
money!”
“What? I won’t give you a cent of the money
Grandma gave me!”
Dad yelled, “Then give me half of your money!
I know you snitched on me to get my antiques
Aunt Carol said, “I didn’t do it. I don’t know
who called the cops.”
As they started to argue, Uncle Mark said, “Remember the bracelet? It was buried with the old lady. That bracelet is worth millions…”
I froze. They were going to dig up Grandma’s
grave for money.
After some hesitation, Dad and Aunt Carol
agreed to dig up the grave.
“The dead can’t use the money!”
They hired a backhoe and went to the
cemetery that night.
I turned red and stood in front of the
backhoe.
“I won’t let you dig up Grandma’s grave!”
Dad stepped up and tried to kick me. “Get out of the way. I need the money to pay my
mortgage.”
Aunt Carol said, “You are stupid. She didn’t leave you a dime, and you are trying to be
nice to her.”
Uncle Mark said, “Drag her away and do it.”
I bit my lip and started throwing rocks at
them.
“How can you steal from a grave. You should
be poor forever. You are heartless and have
no shame!”
“She’s a child. Just get her out of the way so we can dig it up. We paid for it.”
The backhoe driver looked at us. I wiped my face and pulled out the jade bracelet.
“I have the bracelet. I snuck it while I was at
the service.”
Everyone was shocked. Dad ran to me.
“Why didn’t you say so!”
I raised my hand and threw the bracelet on
the stone. It shattered into pieces.
“Now no one can have it.”
Uncle Mark and Aunt Carol looked around,
saying, “Do you know how much that was worth! It’s all gone!”
Dad slapped me. “You are so stupid, you
can’t do anything right! Now you need to get me my millions back!”
Uncle Mark glared at us. “I will go dig it up.‘
I almost fainted from their shamelessness.
“If you dig up my grandma’s grave, I’m going to tell your company, I will tell everyone you
are a terrible person!”
“The same goes to you, Aunt Carol. If you
agree to this, I’ll tell all your friends, relatives
and colleagues about how you dug up my
grandma!”
“Dad, If you do that, then I’ll tell all your friends, you are an unfilial son!”
I laid on Grandma’s grave to protect it.
I then told the backhoe driver, “You should just leave. You’re going to be cursed if you
dig up the grave.
وو
The driver rolled his eyes and said he was
dealing with a bunch of crazies.
They left grumbling.
After they left, I started crying.
Grandma, I listen to you, and will study hard,
but I’m going to leave soon and go overseas.
A gust of wind blew past my face.
I was accepted to school overseas. I’m
leaving tomorrow.
My family stopped giving me an allowance. Dad, Uncle Mark, and Aunt Carol were
arguing.
