Chapter 12
According to the information provided by the private investigator, Tina had initially hooked up with Lisa’s husband–Victor.
Victor, though a notorious flirt, was wealthy. To sleep with Tina, he didn’t hesitate to spend millions of dollars on luxury jewelry and handbags to please her. Among these was a one–of–a–kind necklace.
I had admired that necklace when it was first released but sadly missed out on it.
I had witnessed Victor purchasing it before I could get my hands on it.
If I hadn’t seen Tina wearing that necklace

during the fight that day, I might never have
uncovered these clues.
Victor had always been a notorious playboy.
With married women, he was just after novelty and excitement; once he got bored, he naturally dumped Tina.
After being dumped, Tina turned her attention to David.
So when people called David a sucker, they weren’t wrong.
Lisa, gritting her teeth, tore the flyers into pieces before charging at Tina.
She yanked Tina’s hair and dragged her several
feet away.

Then she began to slap her repeatedly, spewing out a torrent of insults.
“You filthy bitch! Have you lost your mind wanting men? How dare you sleep with my man?!!”
“I covered up your cheating scandals while Allen was alive, you shameless whore! Who gave you the nerve to seduce my husband?!”
One scandal after another spilled from Lisa’s lips, causing the crowd to erupt in chaos.
Tina struggled to crawl out from under Lisa.
“David, David, my abdominal hurts… please help me…”

David’s face darkened with rage, his clenched fists cracking ominously.
He crouched down and gripped Tina’s neck tightly.
“That day you used Jenny as an excuse to lure me and deliberately got me drunk–had you already plotted today?”
He questioned through gritted teeth, “Whose child is in your belly?!!”
Tina sobbed as she shook her head.
“No, that’s not it… It’s that bitch slandering me.”
“David, I… I really didn’t lie to you; the baby… the baby is really yours… please believe me…”

David, his anger boiling over, pushed her away.
Once the seed of doubt was planted, it wouldn’t easily be uprooted.
Just as I had suspected that David and Tina would inevitably have an affair, the truth had ultimately proven my instincts right.
It was the first time I saw Tina so utterly humiliated–her wedding dress torn to shreds, her face marked with hand–prints.
Everyone pulled out their flashlights to take pictures of her.
Including me.
Such a mutual destruction scenario certainly
deserved to be documented.

I hadn’t snapped more than a few shots before Lisa yanked Tina back for another round of beating.
When the crowd saw that someone might be killed, they all rushed forward to stop them.
The chaotic scene seemed to mock the traitors who were unfaithful in their marriages.
This was the retribution for those “traitors.”
I left the wedding venue feeling satisfied.
Just a couple of steps later, David chased after
- me.
He looked at me, hesitating. “Charlotte, I’ve regretted this for days. I regret getting involved

with her; I regret not controlling myself that night…”
Yet, as he spoke, his excitement began to grow.
He even took a couple of steps toward me, his eyes filled with hope.
“But now, the child in her belly isn’t mine. I don’t have to take responsibility anymore. Charlotte, could we… could we still…”
I burst out laughing.
“Are you asking if we can remarry?”
“David, you really have no shame. You slept with her and now want to avoid responsibility. You two are a perfect match–just like a broken pot and a broken lid.”

I ignored the gradually dimming look in David’s
eyes.
I continued to deliver the dagger–like words.
“There are plenty of good men out there. Why would I want damaged garbage like you?”
“David, congratulations on your marriage!”
