Chapter 6
I used up the last bit of my strength, and my phone slipped from my hand.
It felt like I heard someone calling for a doctor.
My soul drifted away. I could not let go of this world or the people I cared about, so I returned to the house we once lived in.
Before me, everything happening outside played out like a scene.
I saw Shirley, completely devastated, unable to stop crying after hearing the news of my death.
I saw Felix holding his phone, saying this was just another one of my tricks.
“What kind of stunt is she pulling this time? Trying to tie me down again?”
He blocked me and went back to filming as if nothing had happened.
Shirley came to my house, took the contract between Felix and me, and headed to his film set.
“I need to see Felix,” she demanded.
Felix’s agent, Sally Perez, brought her to him while he was rehearsing his next scene.
She had planned to interrupt but stopped for some reason, waiting until he finished filming before calling him over.
When Felix saw her, his first question was what kind of scheme I had come up with to keep him around.
Shirley threw the contract at him.
“This is from Emma. She asked me to give it to you. She’s ending your contract.”
”
Felix froze for a moment, clearly not expecting me to do this. Then he picked up a pen and quickly signed his name.
“End it then. Is this really all because of Zia? Over someone like her? I didn’t even ask who that other guy was when she brought him around last time.”
Shirley could not hold it in any longer and slapped him hard across the face.
“How dare you say that? Do you even realize what Emma did for you? Without her, you wouldn’t have any of the success you’re enjoying now. Did you even know that most of the roles you’ve gotten were because she invested in them for you?”
Jhad never told Felix about this, so of course, he had no idea.
“You really think you made it here on your own? You think you’re that capable?
“And let me tell you one last thing. Emma passed away While you were with Zia, her condition got worse. She wanted you by her side, but you hung up on her and blocked her.”
Felix could not seem to process this. He grabbed Shirley, asking why I had died.
“No, it can’t be true. Just one more year! I was so close to making enough money to leave this industry, and then we could’ve been together forever.”

Shirley shoved him away and left.
1 watched as Felix, unable to accept my death, frantically called and messaged me.
I wanted to hug him, but he passed right through me.

He did not film another scene and instead rushed back to the house we once shared.
He tried entering the passcode, but it did not work, so he knocked on the door.
“Émma, open the door! I know you’re not dead. They’re all lying to me. Please, just open the door.”
The door opened, but it was not me. It was an elderly woman.
“The person you’re looking for moved out a long time ago,” she said.
“You were here once before, when you were drunk.
“Young man, it seems a bit too late to realize what you had once it’s gone.”
She shut the door without hesitation, and Felix looked as if all the strength had been drained from his body.
