Chapter 7
He did not even know how he made it back home. Someone called him, and when he looked at his phone, I could see it too.
It was Zia, again. This time, Felix did not answer.
Suddenly, as if something clicked in his mind, he stumbled out and ran straight to my company. He had been there so often that security did not stop him. He rushed to the CEO’s office.
“Emma, I knew they were lying to me!” he shouted.
The new CEO, startled by Felix’s sudden outburst, looked up in confusion.
“Miss Quinn left the company a while ago. You didn’t know?”
“Where is she?” Felix demanded.
Just as the new CEO was about to respond, he received a notification.
“Miss Quinn’s ashes have been brought back.”
He immediately called security to escort Felix out. That night, the company publicly announced my death.
When Shirley found out I had returned, she clung to my urn, refusing to let go.
Felix finally realized that I was truly gone
I had told Shirley that I did not want a big ceremony after I passed, just to be buried beside my parents. She remembered and wanted to keep my urn at her home until the burial.
But Felix clung to my urn, refusing to let go. Shirley could not wrest it away from him.
He held onto my urn like a man whose soul had been ripped away, tears streaming uncontrollably from his eyes.
“Now you’re putting on this act of deep emotion. Who are you trying to fool?” Shirley snapped.
She called over two bodyguards, who easily pinned him to the ground and took the urn back.
She carried my urn and left. The next day, I was laid to rest.
I could feel my soul beginning to fade.
Felix returned to his home and went straight to the wine cellar, drinking himself into oblivion. Staring in my direction, he called out to me gently, “Emma.”
For a moment, I thought he could see me, and I almost tried to hide. But I quickly realized he was lost in his own imagination.
“Please don’t leave me. I know I was wrong. Fame and success mean nothing to me anymore. I just want you,” he murmured.
Then he pulled out his phone and angrily called Sally, saying he wanted to quit the industry.
Sally, who had been frantically searching for him, finally found him. She could not believe he had run off in the middle of filming, leaving the whole crew behind.

She came for him that night, found him passed out in the wine cellar, and rushed him to the hospital.
The next morning, he woke up to sunlight streaming in, rubbing his eyes as he saw Sally sitting nearby.
“Let’s get back to filming,” she told him.
Felix was still lying in bed and did not want to move.
“I know you’re heartbroken about Emma,” Sally said. “Before she died, she asked me to take care of you, and now look at you. One day without me watching you, and you’ve turned into this.”
“She told you that? Why didn’t she tell me?” Felix asked bitterly.
Sally wasn’t going easy on him. After watching him receive IV treatments for a few days, she forcibly brought him back to the film set.
“Finish filming. You’re almost done. After that, whether you want to continue acting or not is your business.”
But after returning to work, Felix was never in the right mindset.
Once the company announced my death, many people expressed their sorrow. They were saddened that I had died so young, without ever getting to enjoy the prime of my life.
People began uncovering the charity work I had done over the years, which only deepened the public’s mourning. A wave of grief spread online, with many fondly remembering me.
Some also pointed out how close I had been to Chris before I passed. His fans offered him comfort, telling him not to be too heartbroken.
