Chapter 6
That night I slept in our house just like he had begged me to, but first thing in the morning, I left before he even got wind of my plans.
For the next few days, Xavier did his best to push back our meeting with the elders of the pack by sending me flowers, love letters and even arranging romantic dates for us.
As much as he tried to make amends with every little thing he did, I remained unmoved. No flower bouquet or beautifully crafted words placed on paper could undo the past and reverse the damage Xavier had caused.
If he really wanted to make amends, the least he could have done was to cut all ties with Quinn and put her in check, but Xavier couldn’t even do something as simple as that.
On a Monday morning, while I was on my way to visit the pups at the orphanage, I received a text from Quinn. She practically begged me to meet up with her and while I felt like it could make things worse, a curious part of me ached to hear what she had to say and so I agreed to meet up with her.
“Luna Stella, I’m so happy that you could give me a moment of your time,” the home wrecker beamed, placing both her hands on her rounded belly.
I read the silent insult loud and clear
Not bothering to fake niceties with Quinn, I took a seat and said,
“Whatever it is that you have to tell me, make it quick. I don’t have all day.”
The smile on Quinn’s face faded as she took a seat opposite me. She took a sip of coffee before she started, “How are you?”
“Didn’t you know that pregnant women aren’t supposed to take coffee?” I asked, ignoring her question and that was when the snake in Quinn started to reveal itself.
She scoffed. “Stop trying to act like you care. I can tell that you’re mad that my pup will actually be born unlike yours.”

Her boldness shook me and I began to laugh. Either way, I should have seen it coming. I always knew that Quinn was a snake and today, she

Just as I stood up, Quinn spoke again, this time her tone
uncharacteristically desperate. “Please just reject Alpha Xavier or choose to make up with him already. You’re draining him and he doesn’t need that right now.”
What came to mind immediately, was all the effort Xavier had been putting in for me in the past few days and I shook my head. “No, you don’t need that right now. You’re just angry that Alpha Xavier is finally giving attention and respect to whom attention and respect is due, but don’t worry about it, I have a feeling that both of you deserve each other.”
To make the whole situation even worse, Quinn’s eyes fell and she went silent. It was only when I turned around that I noticed that Xavier had made an appearance.
The snake had staged the whole thing!
Xavier‘ s eyebrows furrowed and his eyes narrowed into slits. “Stella, I keep telling you that nothing is going on between me and this woman, but you insist on harassing her until you’ve had your fill! Why on earth would force a pregnant woman out of her home just to treat her so poorly?!”
The entire situation was starting to look less comical and a lot more annoying. “She was the one that called me here. You should know me better than that!” I argued, but my words fell on deaf ears.
“You know what, I have tried everything and now I am convinced that a rejection wouldn’t have been so bad after all,” he spat and a tight–lipped smile made its way to my face.
“Fine,” I nodded.
“I, Stella Vamderwoodsman, reject you Alpha Xavier Anderson, and

hereby break any bond we might share.”
My wolf stirred in me and my heart squeezed in my chest in anticipation of the pain we knew we were about to feel.
Xavier‘ s jaw tightened. “I Alpha Xavier Anderson, accept your
rejection, Stella Vanderwoodsman, and I hereby denounce you as my Luna.”
