Alec was arrested on suspicion of intentional assault.
Meanwhile, after several hours of emergency treatment, Faye
didn’t pull through due to the severity of her injuries.

Mrs. Frost received something from my parents on her way to visit
Alec.
They couldn’t face Alec right now.

Alec looked at Mrs. Frost sitting across from him.

It turns out I recognized Alec from the first time we met.

Alec, in his twenties, cried like a child.
He kept pounding on the table, howling and begging for me to come back.
In the empty room, only Alec’s sobs remained.
Mrs. Frost stood helplessly, watching Alec before her.
She knew the whole story.
But she had concealed everything.
“It’s just your heart I wanted, how could you be so selfish?”
