Chapter 15
Tala’s Point of View

Their games continued off and on for the rest of the day. They’d come into my room, ask me questions I can’t answer and then find another way to hurt me. At one point, he just dumped the rest of the container or wolfsbane over my head, leaving my entire body burning. The liquid dripped into every open cut which started to burn my insides as well as outside. My whole form is shaking and getting weaker from blood loss and the poison in my system. I’d be surprised if I can manage not to pass out anytime soon.
“How are those sarcastic remarks of yours?” The same blond from all the other times asks, moving to stand right up in my face. His breath
smells like alcohol and I can see his eyes are a little less focused then they usually are
He’s drunk, plain and simple. Even I can see that with only one good eye as my other is swollen shut. A product of one of the earlier questionings. He’s swaying a little on his feet and and he has a bottle of alcohol in his one hand. That really gives it away.
“Sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt. I’m running out of material though.” I reply quieter, licking my dry lips
The man chuckles and stumbles back a few steps. The other man that usually accompanies him to these visits isn’t here
“You’re going to tell us what new want to know. If you do, you may just survive long enough for your mutts come to get you” Again with the mutts. My wolf growls in my head at being called names, but she doesn’t dare growl aloud. Last time didn’t end well and I really don’t want that to happen again.
“Yea well I would tell you what you want to know if I actually knew something” Slap
My cheek burns from the hit, but unfortunately it’s actually one of the less painful things to happen to me. He’s gotten pretty violent and i wasn’t able to defend myself.
“You should just give in. Answer the questions an no more pain has to come to you”
Lie
Lopen my mouth to reply, but the best sound to ever reach my sensitive ears. From somewhere close by, a chorus of howls breaks the eerie
silence and a small smile finds its way onto my face.
The drunk man in front of me hears the wolves howling and quickly backs out of the room, forgetting to shut the door behind him. If I wasn’t chained tothe wall, I would be using this as my opportunity to get out of here. He just up and left, which could be a good thing for me since I know he won’t be hurting me anymore. Plus, if e left in that much of a hurry, something is definitely going to happen, hopefully for the better.
I close my eyes and strain my hearing as far as it can go to be able to listen to whatever’s happening. After a few moments of men scrambling around, trying to prepare themselves, Thear a loud crash followed by lots of growling
Guns are fired and there are a few whimpers of pain. I hope it isn’t someone I know. From what information blondie let slip, a werewolf can be almost anyone and its impossible to tell the difference between a human and a wolf when they’re happy. If they get mad, you better run.
Men’s shouts and more shots are fired plus a lot o of louder growls and barks.
A headache sets in from trying to concentrate too hard so I let my concentration slip. Even after I no longer wish to hear anything, the sounds of the fight attack my senses. This includes the loud noises and the smell of blood, which may or may not be mine. Either way it hurts my nose and I squeeze my eyes tighter to try to block everything out
Tugging on the metal around my wrists a few times, I keep hoping they’ll magically open to let me go.
Although, even if I would manage to get free, my leg is in pieces and the many cuts an bruises all over my body would make it extremely difficult to actually go anywhere. Hopefully the wolves will be able to help me because I pretty much useless right now.
I start to panic a little. What if they just leave me because I’m useless?! I don’t want to be here for another second, let alone the rest of my short ide if I have to be here for it. The hunters will kill me the second those wolves leave.
Calm down. They wouldn’t leave us.
-But
Stop doubting them. They will help us.

I find I’m talking more to the voice in my head then real people. I should probably see someone about this, but I take a few breaths to calm myself down. I guess until I know for sure they’re not coming for me, I won’t panic.
Not much later, someone starts approaching my cell. Their steps are loud and echoing because of the stone walls, so I’m guessing its not another shifter. My body stiffens in anticipation of what this person could want and I look to the open door to wait for their arrival.
Mr I–can–beat–you–up–for–not–answering–my–questions stumbles into the room with a bloody arm and a three parallel scratches running from right under his eyes to his chin. In his good hand he has a gun and I press my body back into the wall as far as I can in an amazingly lame attempt to hide. He’s going to kill me. I think I’m allowed to panic now.
Fear shoots through me and I watch as he creeps closer to me, step by step. He’s stalking me, like a lion about to pounce on its prey.
He stops in front of me, looking angry, before reaching for my wrists, Surprisingly, he unlocks my wrist restraint and then goes to the other one. My legs, not being able to support me, give way without my arms to hold my body up, but he never unlocks what’s around my neck. My hands fly to the metal starting to choke me and I begin pulling against it. It gives a little under my force, but it isn’t much. He’s just standing there with a sick smile, watching this happen.
I barely see movement behind him through my blackening vision, but I see it. The man is suddenly thrown across the room, crumpling into a heap against the wall, and a large figure is looming in front of me where the hunter was moments before,
Suddenly two hands pull the metal from around my neck and I take a deep breath. The person catches me lightly in their arms as I fall and gently set me on the cold floor.
“It’s going to be alright sweetheart. I’m here. I recognize the voice, but his name gets caught on the tip of my tongue. I furrow my eyebrows as he runs his hand lightly through my matted hair, keeping me lightly in his lap. My eyes don’t seem to want to open, so I just lay in his arms. easily comforted by their prescience alone
“How touching” I tense up and force my eyes to find my captor, standing off to the side, his gun raised and pointed at us.
How is he still alive? The force with which he hit the wall should have killed him, if not severely injured him
One moment, I’m lying in his lap. The next, he’s crouched protectively in front of me as a growling wolf. I barely even felt him move me, which is hard to do since every little movement hurts. So now I’m lying on my back right next to the wall in some sort of sticky substance. From the smell, I know it’s blood, but I block that from my mind at the moment.
The wolf starts taking small steps backwards, eventually ending directly over top of me. He lowers his body protectively over me and his soft black fur brushes against my body. The growl that rumbles threateningly in his chest seems to surround me and make me feel protected, strangely though, but it doesn’t make me any less aware of the situation. The man still has his weapon pointed this way, his drunk persona completely gone.
“I will kill you and then the girl or should I make you watch me kill her?” He threatens as he clicks the safety off on the gun. I feel the wolf’s back legs preparing to spring and when I try to object, nothing comes out of my open mouth.
Springing off of me, the wolf tackles the man to the ground, growling and trying to bite his throat, but somehow the man keeps moving out of the way. The gun in his hands is knocked away and slides out of mach of either of the two.
The two of them wrestle on the ground, rolling around trying to get the upper hand, but I can tell the wolf is stronger
Biting my
lip, I use my arms to push myself into a sitting position. I try not to make any noise, but a weird sound somewhere between a grunt and a whimper passes through my lips. The wolf turns its head to look at me and in the moment of distraction, the man pushes the wolf to the side and dives for the gun lying a few feet away.
“Bol” I scream, finally finding my voice and he snaps his head to the threat as the gun fires.
(AN: Was gonna stop it here, but I won’t be mean this one time <3)
He staggers back a few steps before regaining his footing and lunging once again. Blood starts seeping into his thick fur from the shot to the shoulder and I feel myself start to freak out, it isn’t worry for me, but for him.
Bo manages to clamp his jaws around his neck, but I shut my eyes before I can see the outcome. A sickening crunch cuts through the silence before everything gets quiet. I can partially hear fighting going in in other areas of the building, but its forgotten when large, warm hands frame edher side of my face
“Tala“. I open my eyes and they immediately zone in on the bullet wound in his one shoulder.

“Oh my god Bo, you’ve been shot” I raise a weak hand to place it on his shoulder, but he catches it in his own and brings to his cheek Instead. He leans into my open palm and I notice the tightness of his smile, as much as he tras to hide it.
“It’s nothing, but we need to get you help. He eyes all of my injuries and his face morphs into an expression of pure rape “Bo” Without warning, he hugs me to his chest, my chin on his shoulder so I’m looking at the open door behind
Another wolf suddenly runs through the open door and I immediately recognize it from the time I went on a car to lie, it’s the exact same wolf. And I actually get to see its eyes and guess who it is… he’s going to have some major explaining to do. All of them will, because of and Jason are wolves, most likely there are others I know too. This must be the gigantic secret I knew they were hiding femme, but thad no idea involved turning into giant wolves.
Jason changes back into a human with ease from his mud colored wolf and hunies to kneel down next to Bokep my gaze above the wast because some things I don’t need to see.
“Shit you look awful” That’s the first thing he says, Dude, that makes me feel great.
“You sure know how to make a girl feel special” mutter, lettings my eye close a little as exhaustion starts to creep in
“We need to get her out of her.” Jason says, probably looking over all of the wounds.
“No shit.” Bo responds, carefully sliding his arms under my knees and lower back. I cry out softly as he touches my broken leg and takes any pressure off it that he can.
“ill cover you. There might still be a few hunters hiding around here. This place is bigger then it looks” Jase was ahead of us, tha a scoutin any war movie, with Bo carrying me like a child right behind him
I rest my head on his chest and let myself begin to fall asleep
“Stay awake sweetheart.” Bourges, picking up his pace.
“But I’m tired” I whine quietly, not in control of what leaves my mouth at the moment, I sound like a child.
“I know, but keep talking to me. Tell me about a friend from California” He suggests,
“Well, I have three best friends; Tyler, Hailey and Thatcher. They’re the best a girl could ask for Did you know Tyler doesn’t like books because there are too many words?” He chuckles, but it sounds strained
“No sweetheart, I didn’t know that”
“Did you know Hailey likes to eat marshmellows?”
“I didn’t know that either. Anything else sweethean?”
“Why do you keep calling me sweethean?*
“I-“He’s cut off by yet another familiar voice.
“Thank god you found her. I have a car waiting right over here.” Damn, is everyone a stupid freaking wolf. Even my freaking brother is in on it. I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone in my new house is a wolf because that’s how it’s looking.
“You all are in a shit load of trouble. Y’all are gonna be in the doghouse for sure”
No one answers, but I hear a door opening and me being lain across the seat. My upper body is lifted into Bos lap as he slides in after me. A few second the car lurches from its parked position and is driving off somewhere.
“You guys aren’t wearing any clothes.” I mumble, turning my face into Bo’s chest. The action seems to be natural, but both my wolf and I like it.
I She’s purring in content in my head and the only thing going through my mind about that is ‘are you a cat or a wolf now. He wraps his arms around me and holds me closer. If I had the energy I would smile.
“Does that bother you?” Someone asks, but I can’t tell exactly who it is anymore. My brain is starting to shut down to let me sleep.
“Nooooo.” I draw out the word, lifting my arm weakly to cover my eyes. Someone quickly lifts it away seconds later and I let out a growl of annoyance
“You have to stay
y awake “A voice says, sounding close to my ear. I shake my head and take a deep breath, breathing in Bo’s scent. And stop thinking I’m being weird. He smells really good and for some reason I feel so relaxed with him, despite everything else going on. “Tala, open your

eyes.” He urges, framing my face in both of his hands.

“You’re so bossy.” I mutter, but wanting to make him happy, I slowly make my eyes open to stare up into his gorgeous inses, I’m able to focus for a few seconds before my vision swims and everything becomes blurry. My heartbeat seems to get louder and it becomes the only thing I can hear. Bo’s mouth moves, but I can’t hear whatever he’s saying.
“I want to get a pet wolf. Ash bites mailmen, but I bet my wolf would eat him. That’d be funny. Every time I blink, it seems to get harder and harder to keep my eyes open, but I notice a puzzled look on Bo’s face.
Out of nowhere, the car roughly stops and almost has me flying from the seat, but Bo had been holding me so it didn’t actually happen. The car door closest to my head opens and I groan in pain as someone lifts me up into their arms.
My head lulls to the side and I sort of see a few wolves break out of the trees a little ways away. One second they’re animals, but I blink and people are in their places. Seeing a certain someone, I finally allow my eyes to close. My wolf inside me just tells me to rest and that everything will be alright now,
My final thoughts, some people have a lot of explaining to do. I knew I hated that man, but who would have guessed he’s exactly like me yet not like me at all?
