Chapter 104
In Roth Group Tower, Craig rushed over in a hurry, and it was already four in the afternoon.
By that time, people in the building had started getting off work one by one.
He had been through a lot at the hospital. He sold his house, borrowed money from every relative he could, then cashed our his bank cards, borrowed from college buddies, and even tried his luck with online lending platforms. Finally, he managed to scrape together enough for his mother’s surgery.
The surgery date was set. He had originally planned to resolve things with Kylie after his mother’s surgery.
But it turned out Kylie didn’t choose Zach but Trevor instead. The person he hadn’t even dared to imagine.
He wondered, “Has Kylie changed? Wasn’t she the one who never cared about her boyfriend’s background? She never paid attention to all those wealthy families before.
“Yet now, she becomes Trevor’s mistress, willingly being toyed with by him.
We have been together for seven years, and it means nothing.
In those seven years, she never let me touch her, but now she’s with Trevor,
I can’t accept it. If she had let me sleep with her, I wouldn’t have slept with Melanie.
He glanced at the Roth Group Tower, a skyscraper that seemed to touch the clouds, a place many dreamed of entering but few could
When Kylie was with him, she really enjoyed going to museums, strolling down Vintage Market, and browsing through historical books at the library. But enjoying these things didn’t mean she knew how to restore ancient artifacts. If Kylie could get in, it was definitely because of Trevor.
To ordinary people, the Roth team seemed to choose people fairly, claiming it was based on talent.
But for these wealthy families, those rules were set for ordinary people.
Kylie broke up with him without the slightest hesitation for these superficial reasons.
Craig waited for another half hour.
Kylie finally walked out of the building, her eyes showing signs of fatigue. She hadn’t even had lunch today, solely focused on her restoration work.

Although she acted calm and indifferent about the money, it was just an act for others. She really did care.

This weekend, she planned to check out some properties. She wanted to buy a house of her own, a home for the whole family where her foster mother, brothers, and younger siblings could all live together.
Thinking about these things made Kylie smile.
Just as she was heading to the parking lot, a quick figure rushed toward her, grabbed her arm, and pulled her to the side. Kylie was startled. At first, she didn’t recognize Craig.
It was really hard to recognize Craig at first. He had lost a lot of weight, unshaved, and looked even more ragged than the last time they met.
“Let go of me Kylie forcefully pulled her arm back.

Meanwhile, she slapped him hard on both cheeks.
She didn’t hold back at all. She had been wanting to hit Craig for ages.
With him showing up like this, it would be a shame not to hit him after everything he did in her past life.
Craig, having skipped his workouts and given in to despair, was caught off guard by Kylie’s slaps and staggered two steps back.
“Kylie, you’ve changed. You’re not like you used to be, I know everything now. Are you being kept by Trevor? Do you realize he’s just toying with you? He’ll never marry you or take responsibility for you,” Craig said.
Kylie raised an eyebrow, thinking. He shifted his focus from Zach to Trevor. How did he come up with that idea?‘
“Are you done? If so, get out, Kylie said with a blank expression
Seeing Craig again, she felt calm.
That made sense: Someone like him didn’t deserve any emotional response from her.
Craig felt like daggers were piercing his heart. “You used to say you liked me and wanted to marry me. We even vowed never to separate in this life. Do you realize you’re breaking your promise now?”
“You’ve secretly hooked up with Melanie for so long. Not only do you twist the truth, but now you’ve got acting skills too?” Kylie mocked.
She realized that anyone connected to Melanie seemed to copy her shamelessness exactly.
T… Melanie and I aren’t like what you think. She tricked me, making me believe I liked her. The truth is, I’ve always loved you, and I’ve never changed. Kylie, you’ve made a mistake too, just like me. We’ve both taken wrong turns, I forgive you, so please forgive me too, okay? I’m the only one who truly cares for you, who genuinely loves you and wants to marry you.” Craig’s eyes were bloodshot as he stared intently at Kylie.
In the past, when she looked at him, her eyes were filled with love.
Now, when she looked at him, all that remained was indifference
“No, it’s you who made the unforgivable mistake, not me.” Kylie replied with growing regret.
Kylie thought, ‘Seven years have passed. And seven years ago, I really had poor judgment.
‘How could I have let such disgusting things linger in my heart?
The security guard as the entrance noticed something unusual and hurried over. “Ms. Thompson, do you need any help?” “It’s okay, I just ran into a psycho, Kylie explained with a smile.
The guard relaxed after hearing her, gave Craig a quick glance, and nodded slightly. Crag did seen a bit out of it. What a waste of his handsome face.
“What are you looking at?” Craig yelled angrily at the guard.
The guard rolled his eyes. “Hurry up and leave. Don’t think just because you’re a psycho that I won’t deal with you. If you keep pestering Ms. Thompson, I’m not afraid to knock you out.
Melanie knew that the security guards Steve hired were all ex–soldiers, well–trained, and capable. Handling someone like Craig would be no problem for them.
Craig never imagined being humiliated by a security guard, and his emotions were on the edge of breaking down.

“Get out of the way. She’s my girlfriend. We just had a fight,” Craig shouted.
The security guard looked at kylie.
Kylie’s expression was indifferent. She looked at Craig like he was a stranger, far from being in a relationship.
The security guard thought, ‘Damn. Are there so many psychos this year?”
“Kylie, we need to have a serious talk. This isn’t the right place for it. Let’s go to that barbecue place we usually visit.” Craig calmed himself down.
No matter how angry he got, he couldn’t show it.
He still had the pills Melanie gave him in his hand.
Just moments ago, he was hesitant, not wanting him and Kylie to end up like this, but it was Kylie’s fault for not listening to
him.
“Stop it, Craig Kylie felt sick at the mention of barbecue.
Back then, she liked it because Craig was broke, and eating there was the most luxurious choice.
“No way. Kylie. I can’t let go. I never agreed to break up, and you don’t want to make a scene at your workplace, right? If so, come with me, Craig said, his eyes carrying the same emotion as before after regaining his composure.
He wanted Kylie to remember their shared memories.
