Chapter 59
As the cigarette lit up, the contours of his face flickered in and out of the shadows,
Kylie couldn’t figure out what Trevor was thinking, so she guessed and said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Walters. I know. my boundaries. I won’t date anyone for the ne years, and I definitely won’t let Noreen worry.”
“Isn’t he just worried I will get caught up with aig again? Then everything would blow up in front of Noreen. Kylie thought.
There were things she couldn’t tell him. If he knows about my past life, he’d understand I won’t get involved with Craig again. After all, 1 am not into suffering. I am not that desperate: Kylie thought.
“Hmm.” Trevor murmured softly.
Kylie felt a rush of emotion and couldn’t hold back. She said to Trevor, “Mr. Walters, you expect me to avoid relationships and keep my feelings clear for three years. I hope you follow the same rule,”
The rules should apply to both of us. It isn’t fair to only hold me accountable, Kylie thought.
Trevor could sense the tension in Kylie’s demeanor. Suddenly, the irritation weighing on hirn disappeared.
With rare patience, Trevor said. Till follow the agreement too.”
Pleased with the outcome, Kylie said, “Alright then. Goodnight
Trevor said, “Good night.”
After Kylie went back to her room to sleep, Trevor grabbed a boule of water from the fridge, took a few sips, and then went outside to finish his cigarette.
He saw a message on his phone from Henry.
Henry had asked him: [Are you at the spa resort too?]
Trevor remembered the sound he heard earlier while soaking in the hot springs and tapped his screen: (Did you bring a woman with you?]
Henry replied: [Did the front desk tell you that?]
Trevor’s eyes darkened. He replied: [No]
There were no more messages from Henry. Trevor turned off his phone and returned to the villa with long strides.
Early the next morning, the driver arrived to pick Kylie up.
Trevor was still at the spa resort, waiting to pick up Noreen from Xander’s place around ten
After arriving at Liam’s store, Kylie washed her hands and prepared to start the restoration work.
Just as she was about to enter the workshop, Kevin stopped Kylie and asked, “Did the team from Mr. Roth call you?”
Kevin had been trying to win over his grandfather for days, so he was sure his grandfather would agree to let Kylie join his
Team
Feeling a bit disappointed, Kylie said, “The team messaged me yesterday afternoon, and I wasn’t accepted”

Chapter 59
“What?” Kevin’s eyes widened in surprise, clearly not expecting this result.
“It’s okay,” Kylie replied. “I really don’t have much experience, and I didn’t major in anything related to archaeology or history in college. It’s normal they didn’t accept me, and I was prepared for this. Still, thank you for telling me about the opportunity.” Kylie thought Kevin felt sorry for her.
Overhearing the conversation, Liam said to Kylie. “Tve already recommended you to the auction house. Once you’re done here, you can apply there. They offer. us pay and bonuses
“The auction house isn’t as good as My as team Kevin said, scratching his head and giving Liam a sideways look. He hadn’t expected his granddad to be so colil–hearted.
Is he really that inconsiderate? Even though I have assured him pepeatedly, why doesn’t he believe me?
He stubbornly believes Kylie is just a young girl, thinking anyone I recommend must be lacking skills. He thinks that I am trying to impress a girl by bragging Lcould get her into his team.
Why do other people’s grandpas always seem to spoil their grandchildren endlessly, while my grandpa only seems to give me a hard time
I wish Grandpa would misunderstand me like that. But come on Kylie is impressive.
Kylie isn’t just great at restoring antiques. She can appraise treasures too. Anything fake or bad is instantly spotted by her
keen eyes.
Grandpa is really getting old, insisting on judging someone’s talent only by age and experience! Kevin complained in his
heart
Kylie pushed the door open and entered her workshop. She doesn’t like being disturbed while working, and needing quiet and focus. Not getting into Mr. Roth’s team wasn’t a significant deal for her.
But it was just at the moment she heard the result that she felt a bit disappointed.
Kevin watched as Kylie quickly got into her work mode and angrily sent a message to his grandpa: [I’m going to get a DNA test. I suspect you’re not my grandpa]
Soon, his grandpa replied: (Why don’t you and your dad get a DNA test? I suspect you’re not his kid either.]
Kevin held his phone tightly, feeling so furious that he wanted to crush it.
I must have done something really had in a past life to end up with a grandpa like this! Kevin thought.
After replying to Kevin’s message, Mr. Roth looked at the candidates who came in for an interview today.
He was personally interviewing today. The interviewees were all very experienced in the industry. They were currently identifying the authenticity of various antiques.
The interview would take several hours. His team always had high standards for newcomers; those without real skills wouldn’t dare to appear before him. The interview would have any challenges.
Mr. Roth actually doted on his grandson, but Kevin was often unreliable and associated with thrill–seekers. Some young girls, after attending a few college classes, think they are capable.
‘Kevin is gullible and has little social experience, easily believing people.
“Young people today are really not like we are back then. They don’t have many skills, but they act like they know everything
It’s honestly a headache to watch: Mr. Roth thought.

Chapter 39
Seeing Kevin stop grumbling, Mr. Roth put his phone aside. Then he quietly observed the people being interviewed
To be honest, these candidates were the best of the bunch, yet he still felt dissatisfied.
There are almost no young people willing to ende hard work anymore. Mr. Roth thought.
In the laboratory, Austin typed at of comm
into the computer.
As a result, the robotic arm in the test experiment conted to swing wildly and eventually crashed to the ground, breaking into two pieces.
This was already the three–hundredth time in the past two days without a single success!
“Could Ethan’s thesis just be made up?” Austin muttered.
Is Ethan setting me up on purpose” Austin thought.
Austin and Ethan had a rivalry in college. Austin couldn’t stand Ethan, who was from a rural area yet acted like a noble young master, looking down on others.
In college, Ethan often overshadowed Austin. However, Austin’s family’s resources were beyond Ethan’s reach, giving Austin everything he needed to excel in the field.
To Austin’s surprise, as soon as he joined the tech company, Ethan was hired too.
This company has the top research equipment in the country.
Thinking about Kylie’s attitude towards him, Austin suspected Ethan might have influenced!
her.
Annoyed that his sister paid attention to Ethan but ignored him, Austin angrily went to confront Ethan
Ethan was focused on the data on the computer screen when suddenly his cheek hurt, followed by Austin’s angry shout “Dad” you tell Kylie to find someone to be her sugar daddy? Trying to disgrace the Lampard family?”
