Chapter 68
Kylie examined closely, asking, “Was it because you were careless Was it a fight scene!”
Kylie thought. Even if it was an action scene, they hit way too hard, right?”
“Yeah, it was a fight scene, with a group of people fighting. Everyone stayed fully in their characters, and someone even ended up with two black eyes. I just spaced out for a moment, otherwise I wouldn’t have a scratch. Let’s just head home because I’m starving,” said James, with his eyes sparkling, clearly not wanting to talk about it further.
Ethan’s face darkened. Looking at Kylie who was still worried about James, Ethan said, “James is tough–skinned and he’s fine. Let’s go home. Mom and Dad are waiting for us at home!
“I’m craving for the Pizza Mom cook,” said James, almost drooling.
“I miss all the dishes Mom cooked.” Kylie echoed
The two walked towards the parking lot, and the eldest brother Ethan quietly clenched his fists while watching them.
Ethan felt himself an unsuccessful elder brother.
Ethan thought, He didn’t protect Ethan and Kylie well.
Trevor came back home at Starlit Villa early today.
Trevor sat in the living room reading a book, from a little past seven to a bit past ten
Trevor had been on a business trip for over a week.
If Trevor hadn’t remembered his married status, he would felt himself still single because of the quiet at Starlit Villa,
Trevor looked seriously at the clock on the wall. It was eleven thirty.
Trevor thought, ‘Could it be that she didn’t come back while he was on his business trip”
Trevor pressed between the center of his eyebrows, picturing Kylie’s pale face at the hospital.
It seemed that Kylie still had affection for Craig.
It was already half past midnight when Kylie returned to Starlit Villa. Time flew by as Kylie chatted and had dinner with her family.
Kylie paused for a moment when she saw Trevor
“Mr. Walters, welcome back home.
Kylie thought he wouldn’t be back for a couple of days for he was reluctant to part with Sophia since he hadn’t met her for several days.
Trevor looked over at Kylie.
After saying hello, Kylie went upstairs without talking further to Trevor.
“Wait a second,” said Trevor.
Kylie looked at Trevor, who had stopped her, asking, “What’s up

Chapter 68
Kylie’s heart sank; she thought, “Was he going to talk abour divorce today?”
Kylie had mentally prepared herself, but she still felt uneavy.
“If you’re free tomorrow, come with me to the Walters residence Trevor said, looking deeply into Kylie’s eyes..
Trevor thought. Was her mood still being influenced by Craig? Why was she still hung up on a jerk like that?”
Kylie was a bit taken aback. Trevor wasn’t asking about divorce, but wanting for her to visit Noreen.
Kylie nodded and said, “Alright.”
Just as she was about to climb another step, Kylie remembered something and said, “Thank you for your help at the hospital today”
Zach mentioned later to help find a lawyer. He must have done that in line with Trevor’s instructions.
Without Trevor and Zach’s help, Craig and Mrs. Fraley wouldn’t have given up so easily.
Trevor gazed into Kylie’s eyes, asking, “Can you let go of years of feelings for him so easily?”
It was hard to tell for it was a relationship lasting for years Kylie’s gaze became more intense.
All people’s lives comprised of several decades, which couldn’t afford to waste.
Kylie wanted to curse herself for being nearsighted at the mere thought of all those years she had wasted on the jerk.
Kylie’s brief silence left Trevor feeling a surge of annoyance.
“I’ll learn from this mistake and will consider those years of my youth wasted,” said Kylie casually.
Trevor’s gloom instantly faded. Trevor couldn’t help but smile slightly, saying, “It’s getting late. Time to rest.
Kylie replied, “Okay, good night.”
A few minutes later, Trevor put his book down and prepared to go upstairs.
Suddenly, a message notification arrived on his phone
Trevor opened it as he walked along. Sophia sent a message to Trevor. [Good night. Mr. Walters.]
Trevor didn’t reply and put his phone on silent mode.
Sophia, waiting for a reply that never came, stood by the full–length window with a glass of wine, gazing out at the nightscape of Jardora. She glanced down at Trevor’s profile picture on her phone.
Sophia confirmed with Trevor today about the alumni reunion in three days, hoping he would attend,
If Trevor could come, the reunion would truly be meaningful
Trevor only replied with uncertain messages that afternoon, saying, “It depends.”
Trevor rarely replied to her goodnight message. Perhaps he had already gone to sleep and didn’t notice it, or maybe he saw it and just didn’t want to respond.
Thinking of the possibility that Trevor didn’t want
to answer, Sophia pressed her red lips together.
Sophia could easily guess what many people were thinking, but she couldn’t figure out what Trevor was thinking.

Chapter 68
His heart was hard to reach.
In the morning, when Kylie went downstairs to make breakfast, she found that the breakfast was already laid out on the table.
It was her favorite pizza and a few other side dishes.
Trevor came over carrying two cups of warm milk.
Looking at her, Trevor said, “Mrs. Walters sent the breakfast over
Kylie walked over, took a cup of milk from his hand, felt the cups warmth, and said with a smile, “The temperature of the milk is just right. Thank you.”
Trevor paused for a moment, looking at her smiling eyes, and said, “You’re welcome.”
“The pizza is delicious,” Kylie took a bite and looked completely satisfied
The ingredients inside were truly delicious.
The ingredients were substantial. It was clear that it was made by the chef from the Walters residence, but not bought from outside.
“If you want to have it, just call Grant and ask him to send some over,” said Trevor.
“No. Thanks. The Walters residence is too far from Starlit Villa; it takes over an hour to go back and forth,” said Kylie. She didn’t want to cause inconvenience to others.
Some things weren’t meant to be eaten every day, or you might get tired of them.
However, Kylie appreciated Trevor’s kind gesture.
It had been over a week since they last saw each other, and Kylie felt Trevor was easier to get along with now.
Suddenly, another possibility occurred to Kylie.
It was said that men in love tend to have better tempers.
Kylie blinked her eyelashes, saying, “I’ll head to the Walters residence after work tonight.”
“Where are you working now?” asked Trevor.
“I applied for a job with Mr. Roth’s team yesterday and I was hired. Today is my first work day. As I need to get familiar with the workplace, I might finish work a bit late, replied Kylie while eating
Hearing that Kylie joined Mr. Roth’s team, Trevor was a bit surprised, asking. “Mr. Roth’s team?
“Right, answered Kylie
Trevor realized that he didn’t know much about Kylie. He had been close to Mr. Roth since he was young, and Mr. Roth was known for his strict work standards. Joining his team meant passing several tests and gaining his approval.
Kylie getting into Mr. Roth’s team proved that she was exceptional.
“Congratulations,” Trevor said, focusing intently on Kylie.
With a smile in her eyes, Kylie raised her glass and said, “Thank you.”
