Chapter 86
She suddenly remembered she had added Sophia on WhatsApp earlier today.
Before she opened the messages, she gave Trevor a quick look.
She still hadn’t figured out what was really going on between Trevor and Sophia.
Trevor was hard to read, and she was sure no one could easily guess what he was thinking.
But it was clear Sophia cared about Trevor, and considering how Rafael and the others acted that night, all the signs suggested their relationship was far from ordinary.
“Got something to say?” Trevor glanced at her, his cold, intense eyes locking onto hers.
It was the kind of look that could make anyone feel uneasy.
Kylie quickly shook her head.
Trevor rubbed his temple, unintentionally revealing his work mode. I must have startled her, thought him. “If there’s anything, just ask me directly. We’re a couple now.”
Fake husband and wife with a contract, thought Kylie.
“Nothing for now, but if something comes up. I’ll let you know,” said Kylie.
“Okay,” he replied.
Trevor got back to his work, and Kylie checked her WhatsApp.
She noticed a message from Sophia asking: [Do you have time this Saturday, Ms. Thompson? There’s something I’d like to talk to you about in person.]
“Saturday? That’s tomorrow, thought Kylie.
She already had plans to visit her adoptive mother and then stop by the set to see James.
Her schedule was pretty tight..
[Sorry, I’m not available tomorrow, but I am free the day after.]
A few minutes after she sent the message, Sophia replied: [Okay, let’s meet at Cloudtop Restaurant the day after tomorrow at

Once they made it through the traffic, the road was smooth, and they soon arrived at the Walters residence.
As they stepped out of the car, they were already holding hands, their fingers intertwined.
Kylie’s fingers felt a little stiff. This type of hand–holding was a bit too close for her.
Grant noticed them holding hands and couldn’t stop smiling. “Mrs. Walters is waiting inside, Mr. Walters, you two really look perfect together
When they stepped out of the car just now, it was like a scene from a painting, a perfect match made in heaven.
No one else could ever match up to either of them like this.

When Kylie heard the word perfect, her smile stiffened a little.
Trevor smoothly replied to Grant, “When has Grandma ever been wrong?
“Exactly!” Grant nodded. ‘If Mrs. Walters chooses her as a granddaughter–in–law, she’s definitely the ideal match for Mr.
Walters.
The last time they were here, they weren’t this close, but now, look at them. After getting out of the car, they hold hands like they can’t bear to be apart for even a second, thought Grant.
When Noreen saw what was happening, she couldn’t stop grinning. “Hey, you two! Come over and check out this spread. I made some of it myself!”
She always said that Kylie was exactly the type Trevor liked.
At first, he was denying it, but now, he couldn’t take his eyes off her.
“Did you really cook this, Noreen?” Kylie asked immediately.
Because of Noreen’s health, she really needed to take it slow and not be too tired. A little walk outside every now and then to enjoy nature was beneficial for her.
Noticing Kylie’s worry, Noreen smiled and said, “Oh, I feel great today and wanted to cook a few things. Don’t worry! I’ve been feeling much better these days. Having you two here for my birthday makes me so happy.”
“This is our birthday gift for you,” Trevor said, placing the jewelry down, adding, “Kylie picked it out.”
At first, Noreen wasn’t too interested because Trevor usually chose the most expensive things without thinking about what women actually liked.
But when she found out it was selected by Kylie, she eagerly grabbed it and took out the necklace.
“It’s gorgeous! This is the best piece of jewelry I’ve gotten in years Help me put it on!” said Noreen.
“I’m happy you like it,” Kylie replied while fastening the necklace
Noreen looked in the mirror and said, “It looks wonderful! Kylie really knows what she’s doing! It looks pretty, but even better when I wear it

ou a new outfit too. After Grant cleans it, you can try it on and see if it fits, Kylie said.
Noreen was really touched and replied, “That’s so sweet of you, Kylie! I’ve been unwell and haven’t had a chance to shop, so I’m really bored with my clothes,”

Noreen didn’t like cake, so she never had one on her birthday.
She liked to keep things low–key and celebrate with just her close family rather than a big gathering.
It was quiet, but it still felt cozy for her birthday.
After dinner, Noreen was eager to try on the outfit Kylie had bought her.
“Trevor, come check this out! The outfit Kylie picked is gorgeous It makes me look so elegant and takes off at least ten years!” said Noreen

Trevor’s face lit up, it reminded him of when he was little and saw his grandma looking so lively.
With a warm smile, he nodded and said to Kylie, “You really have an eye for this.”
Kylie felt her cheeks flush from all the compliments. When she caught Trevor looking at her, she suddenly felt speechless and turned to Noreen, saying, “The designer of this brand really did a great job.”
Trevor responded, “You chose well.”
Over the years, he seldom saw his grandma so happy.
Ever since his grandma met Kylie, she seemed lighter and her smile felt more genuine.
He couldn’t help but think that the more time he spent with Kylie, the more he realized what a good girl she was.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t give her love.
If she wasn’t looking for love, maybe they could just enjoy life together.
Then, Kylie sat with Noreen to watch a show.
It was a dating show, and they had a great time.
Grant set out some fruits and snacks, but honestly, it was mostly Kylie who was eating. After the meal, Noreen wasn’t un for much else and was just digesting while they watched.
It was rare for Trevor not to be in the study; instead, he was sitting nearby on the sofa, observing the two of them guess who liked whom.
When Kylie was with Noreen, she felt completely at ease, her smile bright and youthful, filling the house with laughter.
It was a lot more fun and charming than when she was alone with him.
Trevor watched them, his eyes half–closed, giving off a vibe of cool indifference.
Kylie caught his gaze by accident.
