“Yeah, I traded my freedom for it. If you want a
divorce, I’ll be a nobody, and have to work all
my life, that’s just sad.”
I finally realized why he said it was his last
show. I poked his bruised cheek. “You’re crazy.”
“Yeah, but don’t leave me, at least I can be
crazy and happy.”
I nodded, Ben took it as a yes, and his grin
widened. “Now can I kiss my wife freely?”
Before I could say anything he kissed me

Before I could say anything he kissed me. It was
a crazy kiss, Ben was like a kid who got his
candy. I was like water.
“Ben, don’t…”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be gentle…” In a fog, I realized
what Ben meant by ‘strong‘.
Ben and I moved again. He said he was worried
Liam would come back to us. It was peaceful,
until Ben dragged me to the bridal shop. I didn’t
even know we were getting married.
“I’ve been planning this since we got married.
When I painted you, I thought, you should be my
beautiful bride.” He did it all himself. I just sat
with his mom, and gave them some comments.
At the hotel, we met Liam again. He pulled me
aside.

Saran, please come pack. Like Granuma
always wanted, I will take care of you. Liam is
your home, why are you doing this?” I pulled my
hand away.
“You never treated me like family. I have a new
family now, just leave me alone.”
Ben’s parents were so nice to me. Especially
Ben’s mom, when she heard that I was an
orphan, she hugged me tight, and told me that
she would be my mother. I really love this
family. I finally fit in. At Liam’s place, my only
ily was Grandma. Now that she’s gone, I
have any more ties. I saw Ben coming to
me, so I ran to him. He put my coat on for
me, and started talking to the hotel manager.
Liam was still there, watching us leave. He
never saw me looking back.

I always thought I knew everything about
people, but it turns out I never understood
Sarah. I thought she was weak, that I could
control her.
But she just left, and came back with her own
ideas. I promised Grandma that I’d marry her,
so I gave her a wedding. I showed her that I
knew what bothered her, the yellow roses and
the memory of Amy.
When a woman who looked like Amy appeared,
I went with her. Sarah looked terrible, it was
exactly what I wanted.
I didn’t think she’d get mad, or leave, or throw
her ring back at me.
I thought she was a kid, who ran away because
she was mad. But I was wrong, she’s strong
now. She has a job, new friends, and now she’s
married.
<
I sat there waiting for the bodyguards to bring
her home, and they told me that she was
married. I almost dropped my phone.
She wanted to move on, as if I had no meaning
to her.
I got mad, and wanted to teach her a lesson.
But I was beaten up by the kid. He’s a jerk, he
called me Uncle, when he was a child. But
Sarah, she was so worried when he was hurt.
She was always worried about him. She only
had hate for me.
I realized that I had lost her, she will never
belong to me again. I got their wedding
invitation, and they looked so happy.
I had a wedding once, and I was too lazy to
even take a photo with her. She must have been
so disappointed.
I was too used to having her around, and taking
was too used to having her around, and taking her for granted. I didn’t realize, that some
people, when lost, can never come back.
She didn’t want my family, and I’m trapped
forever in it.
