“I need to go find Chloe. You can go home. Don’t say those things again, and don’t forget whose heart you have inside your body.” He
left. Tiffany tried to say she was in pain again, but Jake didn’t look back.
He drove home like a maniac. Chloe is just
kidding around. She is waiting for me at home. But he knew she wasn’t.
All of her things were gone. She left behind the divorce papers with her signature, and that
donation card that was hidden in his safe,
which started this whole thing. She also left him a USB with two videos. The first was his
conversation with Liam. The second, was the two of them on the balcony.
Jake was panicking. He called Liam. “Help me check which hospital Chloe did a surgery in?”

“What surgery? You didn’t change her heart?”
Jake started pulling at his hair. “She didn’t come! She knew about everything. She took the heart out of her body and sent it back to me…. Liam, I am scared! Please check it!”
Liam was quiet for a while before sighing. “Jake, the last time you were scared was when Tiffany was found with heart disease. Why is it Chloe now? She didn’t come for you, and she didn’t want to see you. Why are you scared? You need to just admit it, you have fallen in love with her.”
“I told you that Tiffany wasn’t as innocent as you thought. How else would she steal another woman’s boyfriend? She couldn’t even wait half a day to change the heart, forcing you to give her Chloe’s. And you just followed her around like a puppet.”
“I will do my best to help, but you should be

ready, because if I were Chloe, I wouldn’t want
to see you, dead or alive.”
Jake hung up the phone and stared at the
empty room. His heart was empty. He stared at the divorce paper and started crying.
A few days later, I woke up in a strange room. My best friend, Sarah, was next to me, her face was filled with worry. She looked like she had been crying. When she saw that I was awake, she screamed with joy. “Baby, you are finally awake! I thought I didn’t do so well!”
When I looked like I had a question, she said, “You thought right. That jerk Jake is having people search for you! But don’t worry, I got you out of there before he could! We are in a small fishing town hundreds of miles away from the city. You can rest here.”
