Luna Vengeance by Shevaux Vlada Chapter 43

Chapter 43

The first thing I heard was weeping. Soft, broken sobs echoing in the room. My eyelids felt heavy, like they had been sealed shut for an eternity. My body was weak, aching in ways I couldn’t describe.

I forced my eyes open, the bright light above me blinding at first. It took a few seconds before my vision adjusted. And then I saw Tyler. He sat beside me, hunched forward, his hands covering his face. His usual strong, unshakable posture was gone.

He looked… defeated. For a moment, I just stared at him, confused. Then, I inhaled sharply, my throat dry and sore. Tyler’s head snapped up instantly. His golden eyes locked onto mine.

For a second, he just froze.

“Oh my Moon Goddess,” he breathed, his voice raw with emotion. “You’re awake.”

His hand reached for mine, gripping it tightly, almost as if he was afraid I would disappear. I tried to smile, but my lips barely moved.

“Hey…” my voice came out hoarse, barely above a whisper.

Tyler exhaled sharply, his grip tightening.

I saw it then—the exhaustion in his eyes, the dark circles under them, the weight he had been carrying. He had been waiting for me to wake up. That realization hit me like a wave, but before I could process it, Tyler suddenly turned toward the door.

“Healer!” he called out, his voice firm but urgent. “She’s awake!”

Within seconds, a healer rushed in, followed by a matron. The healer—a middle-aged man with graying hair and kind eyes—quickly approached me.

“Luna Aurora, how are you feeling?” I swallowed, my throat dry. “A little… dizzy.”

The doctor nodded. “That’s normal. You’ve been unconscious for nearly two months.”

Two months. The words hit me like a punch to the chest. I had been unconscious for that long?

I blinked, my mind racing. So much could have happened in two months. Was the war over? What happened to Debbie? Where was Killian? And my real father? What about my family?

A thousand questions burned through my mind, but before I could ask, the doctor spoke again.

“You lost a lot of blood,” he explained gently. “We weren’t sure how long it would take for you to recover, but it seems you’re stronger than we thought.”

I let out a soft exhale. “Thank you.”

Tyler squeezed my hand. “You’re going to be okay,” he murmured.

I turned my head slightly, looking at him. His eyes were still filled with so much emotion. I had never seen him like this before. Like he had been truly afraid.

The healer cleared his throat, pulling my attention back to him. “There’s something I need to tell you.”

I frowned at the healer. “What is it?”

He hesitated for a moment before meeting my gaze. “You’re pregnant, Luna.”

Silence.

The room suddenly felt too small, too tight. I blinked. The words didn’t make sense at first. Like my brain refused to process them.

Pregnant?

I let out a shaky breath, my fingers trembling slightly.

“I…” My voice failed me. I turned to Tyler, expecting shock, disbelief. But all I saw was awe. His lips were slightly parted, his chest rising and falling with uneven breaths.

“Pregnant?” he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.

The doctor nodded. “Yes. About six weeks now.”

I am carrying Tyler’s heir.
