Chapter 61
The battlefield was drenched in blood, the air thick with the metallic scent of death. Bodies lay scattered, warriors groaning in pain, the ground littered with fallen swords and shattered shields. The once-mighty Silver Moon Pack had been defeated, its warriors kneeling in surrender.
I had won.
From the sidelines, Killian and Alpha Vincenzio stood, watching the chaos with unreadable expressions. This was the moment we had been waiting for. I turned back to Tyler, who stood before me—battered, broken, but still standing.
His golden eyes burned with something fierce, something unyielding, even as his pack lay in ruins around him.
“It’s over, Tyler,” I said, my voice ringing with finality.
He exhaled shakily, his fists clenching at his sides. “You really think you’ve won?”
I smiled.
“Oh, I don’t think, Tyler.”
I lifted my chin, power radiating from my every word.
“I know.”
His jaw tightened, his muscles tensed. But he knew—he had no choice. “Surrender your Alpha title,” I commanded, stepping forward.
The words felt heavy, absolute. The moment they left my lips, the warriors who had survived the battle held their breath. The world paused.
Tyler’s breathing was ragged, his wolf clawing beneath his skin, unwilling to accept this.
“I would rather die.”
His voice was low, dangerous, but I only tilted my head, amusement curling at the edges of my lips.
“Oh, Tyler,” I murmured, stepping so close that I could feel the heat radiating off his body. “That can be arranged.”
Killian chuckled from the sidelines. “You might as well give in, Tyler We both know you’re done.”
Alpha Vincenzio crossed his arms, silent, but observing. Waiting. Tyler’s chest rose and fell sharply, his wolf fighting against the inevitable. But he knew. He knew this was the end.
I lifted my hand, my palm hovering over his chest, where his Alpha bond still clung to him like a dying flame. “Surrender your title to me.”
He trembled—rage and devastation battling inside him. But he didn’t move. The warriors around us shifted, waiting for his decision.
And then—
The earth shook. A blinding silver light exploded from the sky, illuminating the battlefield with an unearthly glow.
A wind rushed through the field, fierce and electric, crackling with power. Gasps echoed around me. And then, through the golden dust that swirled in the air, a figure emerged.
A woman—ethereal, glowing, radiating raw, divine energy.
The Moon Goddess. I staggered back, my heart pounding violently in my chest. Tyler inhaled sharply, his eyes wide, his body trembling as he dropped to one knee—not to me, but to her.
The entire battlefield fell silent. “Aurora Watson,” the Moon Goddess spoke, her voice echoing through my very bones.
“Tyler Xander.”
Her gaze swept over both of us, piercing, knowing, infinite.
“You have both strayed from your fate.”
I swallowed hard, my throat dry, my wolf whimpering inside me at the sheer power radiating from her. “What do you mean?” Tyler rasped, still kneeling. The Moon Goddess lifted her hand, and suddenly, the air was filled with visions—images flashing before my eyes like fire.
Cities in ruins. Packs slaughtered. The world, burning. I gasped, stumbling back as the vision seared into my mind.
Tyler gritted his teeth, his body rigid as he took it all in. And then, she spoke again—her voice ringing with the weight of prophecy.
“If you do not unite, that child in your womb will die and the world will burn.”
