Just as Ariana was about to slip past Brian, he reached out and grabbed her arm.
Ariana glanced at his hand on her arm and frowned. “Mr. Ledge, please be mindful. I didn’t sign my body away to the Lodge family.”
With that, she led Selena away without another word.
Brian was momentarily stunned by her remark.
Beside him, Emily couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Lodge, could we have misunderstood Ms. Torrey?”
Brian clenched his fists tightly.
Misunderstanding or not, Ariana’s attitude just now left him feeling deeply annoyed.
“Go and ask Fiona what’s really going on!”
“Yes, Mr. Lodge.”
Emily quickly led a team upstairs, while Brian rubbed his temples, fatigue setting in.
Meanwhile, Selena, still reeling from Ariana’s confrontation with Brian, exclaimed, “Ari, I’ve known you for many years, and I have to say, that was the coolest thing you’ve ever done! Brian treating you like a pawn all this time made my blood boil! But you’ve finally come to your senses!”
“Yeah, I’ve finally come around.”

At that moment, Ariana’s phone rang.
She was about to hang up when she saw it was Gwen, but she paused and reconsidered. Finally, she answered the call.

“I’m at school.”

She curtly replied, “Ms. Lambert, I shall hang up If there’s nothing else.”
Before she could end the call, Gwen hastily stopped her, “Wait! Don’t hang up yet! I’m not done!”
In Ariana’s silence, Gwen hesitated before awkwardly revealing her true intentions. “Ari, you know Igor’s birthday is coming up soon. I was thinking of throwing a grand birthday party for him. What do you think?”
“Go ahead if you want to celebrate Igor’s birthday. Why are you asking me?”
“Well… The event hall at the Royal Hotel needs to be booked in advance. And you know I don’t have much money. Now that the company is under you…”

The Royal Hotel? Who would throw a 19th birthday party in the halls of the Royal Hotel?
