“Not at all.” Ariana assured him, “I usually don’t eat dinner, And I prefer light and mild dishes.”
While speaking, she had quietly pulled out her phone, snapped a photo of her dinner, and sent it to Brian.
These days, she had been habitually sending him photos of her dinners, just like clocking into work.

Simon, who sat across from her, asked, “Ms. Torrey, who did you text? Are you checking in with Mr. Lodge?”

She nearly choked on water. “I’d rather die than date him.”
Simon’s eyes rested on Victor. Victor’s face was devoid of emotion. Seeing that, Simon said, “Ms. Torrey, you seem like you still hate Brian.”
“Oh, I hate him very much to the point that I want nothing to do with him.”
The three men present at the scene could sense her burning resentment. How much did she hate him to make such a bold statement?
“But from what I heard, you used to…” After a brief pause, Simon added, “…Admire Mr. Lodge very much.”
“Dr. Finch, you’re too restrained. What you really mean is that I was once Brian Lodge’s lapdog.” She had long grown used to outsiders making such remarks.

“So, you no longer love Brian Lodge now. Have you considered dating another man?” Simon was clearly steering the conversation toward Victor.
