Chapter 359
Ariana was still shaken from everything that had happened Brian blocked her as she reached her apartment and was about to unlock the door.
The hallway was empty, and his sudden appearance startled her. “What are you doing here?”
“You caused such a huge mess today, and you still have the herve to ask me that?” Brian caged her against the wall. Ariana had no way of breaking free.
She gave up and said indifferently, “I wasn’t the one who caused the mess. And besides, it didn’t affect your company in any way. Let’s not forget that you and I are no longer engaged. Even if my reputation is in shambles, it has nothing to do with you.”
Her nonchalant attitude only made Brian angrier. “I’ve told you many times to stay away from Victor and that you shouldn’t mess with him. Did you even listen to a word I said?”
Ariana couldn’t understand why Brian was so furious. To her, he was the one she should avoid at all costs, even more than Victor. “Mr. Lodge, we should keep our distance. My business is none of your concern. Today’s exam already made me a public target, what more do you want?”
“You think you can cover this up forever? Victor helped you cheat. That’s not something you can hide for long.” Brian growled.
“What are you talking about?” Ariana had no idea where Brian got his information, but she found it ridiculous.
She shoved him aside and said coldly, “I don’t care what you think, but if you’re going to throw around accusations, don’t forget defamation is a crime.”
Brian’s expression darkened. “You know the truth better than anyone. I never expected you to be this capable. William and Victor got their hands on this year’s final exam questions for you. And seeing how close you and Victor were today, how else could you have passed if he didn’t give you the answers?”
He scoffed. “I even made special arrangements so you could take the test separately, thinking it would help with your injured hand. But I only made it more convenient for you, right?”
Ariana sneered. “You call that helping? Mr. Lodge, you had the taken away in front of everyone just so they’d think I got special treatment. Don’t act like you’re a saint.”
“You!” Brian was furious. He had meant well yet Ariana thought differently.
“Fine! You’re right! I did it on purpose! I wanted people to think you pulled strings! Are you satisfied now?” Brian was seething.
But remembering how Ariana had been so close to Victor today, his anger grew. “This is my final warning. Stay away from Victor. And just so you know, I’ve had the exam questions changed overnight. This time, you won’t be able to cheat your way through.”
Ariana rolled her eyes. “Goodbye.”
She unlocked her door and stepped inside before slamming it shut behind her.
Brian was beyond frustrated. She had rejected the apartment he gave her only to move into one William provided. He wouldn’t even have known she was living here if he hadn’t looked into it.
