Looking over the money and goods in his possession, Jeremy nodded in satisfaction. He left the Torrey residence with his group of lackeys,
Gwen’s legs finally gave out and she collapsed onto the floor. She had only borrowed money from the loan sharks just once. She couldn’t believe that it would lead her to become completely penniless.
Meanwhile, Ariana, who was still at the office, received a call from Jeremy
“Ms. Torrey, it has been done. All that’s left is to wait for the goods to be exchanged into cash.”
“I understand. Thank you for your hard work.”
“You’re welcome. We were just following Mr. Smith’s orders.”
Ariana smiled lightly. It was indeed all thanks to Victor’s efforts. Without Victor’s help, she wouldn’t have been able to reclaim all of Gwen’s and Igor’s wealth and assets so easily. This was the wealth and assets that rightfully. belonged to her father.
Ariana lifted her head to look at Miranda after she disconnected the call. “It’s done. Start the next phase,” she said.
“Yes, Ms. Torrey.”

At the Torrey residence, Gwen and Igor hadn’t even had the time to catch their breath when the sound of police sirens echoed through the doorway.
Gwen froze up at the sound while Igor was clueless.
What the hell was up with today? Why did the police show up?
Gwen hadn’t yet returned to her senses when the police crowded into the house through the open doorway. One of the police officers strode forward and swiftly put Gwen in handcuffs. “Gwen Lambert, you’re under arrest for the suspicion of committing financial fraud. We received an official report and will be taking you into custody for questioning ”
“Financial fraud? I haven’t committed financial fraud!” Gwen denied vehemently.
Gwen was losing her mind. She tried reasoning with them but the police officer refused to entertain her pleas. He said impassively, “We can talk more at the station. Let’s go!”
“What right do you have to arrest my mother? Let go of her
Igor chased after the police officers, but they didn’t pay him any mind. He could only watch helplessly as Gwen was escorted into the police car.
Everything that had transpired today had been too crazy.
Igor immediately dialed Ariana’s number. However, Ariana was impossible to reach. She would always pick up her calls normally, but the dial tone kept going on and on
Igor’s expression slowly darkened. “Why aren’t you picking up?”
Now that Gwen was in trouble, the first person that Igor thought of was Ariana. Igor couldn’t think of another person who could help him bail Gwen out of jail.
Meanwhile, Ariana had noticed Igor’s endless calls. She guessed that Gwen must have already been arrested.

“Ms. Torrey, as per your orders, the evidence has all been submitted. There’s no chance for Gwen to avoid a prison sentence at this point.”
“We will not be providing a lawyer for Gwen, do you understand?”

Miranda nodded her head. She couldn’t help but sneak a few peeks at Ariana.
In the past, Ariana had never been interested in the going ons of the world. When Carson was still around, Ariana also never involved herself in the family business, Mirandhever imagined that Ariana was the type to carry out her will so ruthlessly.
It didn’t take her even a month to deal with Gwen. She had done it so effortlessly too.
“Ms. Ziegler, follow me back home. Bring some people with you.”
“Ms. Torrey, what do you plan to do?”
Ariana smiled lightly. “There’s someone we need to chase off.”
