Zoe’s POV
I saw pain in Aaron’s eyes as he stared at
- me.
I have always shown him love, yet here I was, biting him to protect someone else.
It was his fault that I stopped loving him and now, he will reap what he sow.
He shifted back to his human form and so did Alpha Jack. A look of disbelief was on Aaron’s face as he yelled, “Why are you protecting him?!”
“He’s better than you!” I yelled back.
He scoffed, “How?”
When I didn’t reply, he added, “You even bit me and growled at me. Don’t you love me anymore?”
Alpha Jack stepped out from behind me and stood beside me, “Are you okay?”
I nodded, “Yes.”
Aaron glanced at me, “I’m sorry, Zoe. I didn’t mean to attack your Alpha, I was just jealous. Just come with me and we’ll put this behind us.”
I groaned in frustration, “Can’t you get my words through your thick skull? I’ve
rejected you, I don’t want to be with you. anymore! All I want is for you to leave!”
A hurt look made its way to his face as he clutched his chest as if he was having a heartache, “I don’t want Hannah, I just want you!”
Hannah touched his shoulder, but he pulled away, shooting her a glare like she was the worst thing that he has ever seen.
He turned back to me, “I can send her back to her mother’s pack if that’s what it takes to get you back.”
I shook my head, “It doesn’t matter anymore.”
His voice cracked as he replied, “You’re my fated mate, you must still feel
something for me. Just come back home with me and I’ll never pay attention to another she–wolf again.”
I sighed, “I rejected you because I don’t feel anything for you anymore.
I turned to Alpha Jack as I said, “Let’s go to our table.”
He nodded and took my hand, “Sure.”
The party kicked off and we enjoyed ourselves. We had karaoke and danced until we couldn’t anymore.
I had such a good time with Alpha Jack, my family and friends that I forgot about the incident with Aaron.
Three month later, I received a text from Aaron, [Zoe! You never told me that you were pregnant with my baby. Dr. Brad just told me that you lost the baby.]
[You didn’t care about me, how could you
care about my baby? Actually, I’m glad that I lost the baby because now, I won’t have any kind of connection to you.]
He didn’t reply and I decided to block him.
A few months later, Sierra visited our pack and told me that Aaron has gone rogue since he refused to accept my rejection and his wolf couldn’t take being away from me anymore.
I pitied him, but what could I have done to help him since it was his choice to refuse the rejection?
I was currently running through the woods with Alpha Jack as he had asked me to run with him.
“Are thinking about those novels that you love reading?” Alpha asked me through mind link as he ran beside me.
I laughed as I replied, “I’m not!”
He laughed too and nudged me with his
snout affectionately. I nudged him back

and we kept playing around as we ran.
As the sun started setting, he led me towards a clearing.
I saw a large mahogany tree and beside it was a blanket on the grass with a picnic. basket on top of it.
There were candles around the blanket with rose petals scattered around it.
Alpha Jack shifted back to his human form and I did the same.
He was now wearing an expendable black shorts while I was wearing an expendable black dress.
I couldn’t help, but ogle his muscular torso.
I heard his velvety chuckle, “My eyes are up here.”
My face flushed in a blush and I giggled nervously.
Looking around, I exclaimed, “Wow! You arranged this all for me?”

He nodded as he opened the picnic basket and pulled out a black box, “Yes,
cupcake!”
He touched the mahogany tree as he added, “This tree holds memories. My great grandfather confessed his feelings to his mate beside this tree and so did the rest
of my family.
So I’m also confessing my feelings to you, Zoe. Will you be my mate?”
I squealed in excitement, “Yes!”
I was blessed to have another mate and he was also an Alpha. I was so happy!
He opened the box and pulled out a diamond bracelet, “Here, this is a family heirloom and anyone that sees it on you will know that you’re mine.”
He placed it around my arm and I grinned,
“I love it!”
He lifted my chin and his dark eyes clashed with mine as he murmured in his velvety

voice, “And I love you.
Butterflies fluttered in my tummy. I have never felt this way about anyone before, and I knew that what we have will be different from what Aaron and I had.
True love is having someone who truly cares about your feelings.
