Zoe’s POV
I ran a hand through my red hair as I said in a cold voice, “I found Hannah’s thong on our bed!”
Aaron looked taken back as he yelled, “I don’t know how it got there!”
“Oh, please. Stop with the lies already!” I yelled back.
“Come on, let’s go. I’ll show you that nothing can separate us.” He stretched his hand out to touch me, but I backed away.
I growled in anger, “We’re not going anywhere together, Aaron! I rejected you for God’s sake!”
He growled back at me, “I will never accept your rejection!”
I growled again as I yelled, “I, Zoe Hunter reject you, Aaron Jackson!”
He groaned in pain as he clutched his chest, “No!”
I felt pain in my chest, but it wasn’t as bad as the first time.
Kira whimpered and I comforted her in my head, “Don’t worry, the pain will be gone soon enough.”
I glanced at him as I muttered, “Just accept the rejection and get rid of the pain.”
He groaned again as he continued clutching his chest, “Never! I don’t agree with the rejection.”
I didn’t want to stand there and watch him suffer since the one being rejected felt more pain than the one doing the rejection, so I started walking away.
He ran after me and stood in front of me,
“Don’t go! Just come back with me.”
Before I could reply, I heard a growl, so I turned to the direction that it came from.
Alec was walking over to us in his wolf form. He shifted back to his human form as soon as he stopped in front of us.
“Is everything alright, Zoe? I heard you two arguing.” He asked as he looked between the two of us.
“Yes, Alec.” I answered him as I wondered just how much he had heard.
He nodded then glanced at Aaron with a stern look on his face, “Alpha Aaron! You didn’t tell me that you were coming.”
Aaron’s face was twisted with jealousy as he replied, “I’ll do that next time.”
Alec glanced at me then back at him as he asked, “What brought you to our pack‘ s territory?”
“My mate. I’m here to pick her up.” He said through clenched teeth.
Alec looked confused, “I thought that you two aren’t together anymore.”
I nodded, “We’re not mates anymore.”
Aaron growled in frustration then glanced at me, “Can we go somewhere private to
talk?“
