Chapter 8
Zoe’s POV
Alec looked at him with suspicion in his
eyes.
I knew that he wasn’t going to let me go unless I listened to what he had to say, so I sighed as I answered him, “Okay, let’s go to the pack house.”
His eyes looked hopeful as he nodded,
“That’s great, let’s go.”
I turned around and started walking towards the direction of the pack house
and the two of them followed me.
I headed to the living room as soon as we reached the pack house, and luckily, there
was no one there.
Aaron sat down on the couch and patted the seat beside him as he glanced at me,
“Come on. Sit down, let’s talk.”
I walked over to one of the three recliners
and sat down. The recliner was facing him and the center table separated us.
Alec didn’t follow us into the living room and I felt glad since I didn’t want to explain why Aaron was here.
“You’re wearing makeup. You never wear makeup for me.” Aaron murmured as he
stared at me.
He has always told me not to wear makeup because he liked seeing me with a natural look. Yet here he was, accusing me of not wearing makeup for him.
Since I wasn’t mated to him anymore, I was
free to do whatever I wanted to do.
When I didn’t reply, he stood up, “Come on, let’s go home.”
“I’m not going anywhere with you. We’re not mates anymore.” I muttered as I crossed my arms against my chest.
I could see the pain in his eyes as he said,
“I can mark you again and we can be
mates again. Zoe, I’ve not been the same man since you left me, Zoe. It was just like how Sierra told you, but it got worse.
I couldn’t eat or drink because my wolf craved you.
I couldn’t even shift back to human form
until after a few days. Hannah tried calming me down, but it just wasn’t working.
All I could think about was you! You’re my mate, Zoe, and I can’t live without you.”
I let out a sarcastic laugh, “I have a life here and I might even take a mate from this pack!”
He scoffed as his jaw clenched, “Are you talking about Alpha Jack? He’s a player, he’ll never settle for one woman.”
He has always been jealous of Alpha Jack, and I was glad that he assumed that I was talking about him. Maybe he would leave me alone because of him.
I sighed, “You‘ re must be having a hard time accepting my rejection probably because I initiated the rejection. So why don’t I make this easier for you? Reject
me.”
