Chapter 11
Stephen’s heart tightened at the thought, but he didn’t show it. Instead, he comforted her, “Don’t worry Mom, when Sheena comes back, I’ll take her to see the best doctor. She‘ ll be fine.”
When they returned, Jasmin and Christopher were already gone.
Christopher often had to attend company affairs and would be called to the board at any moment, so his absence wasn’t unusual. But Jasmin, who had clearly seen Amanda chase after the car, was nowhere to be found.
‘Why isn’t she waiting here?‘ Stephen thought.
If Sheena had been here, she would have surely been heartbroken upon seeing Amanda fall, and tears would have flowed.
Stephen couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed.

Chapter 11
After escorting his mother back to her room, he was about to go out to find Jasmin when his phone suddenly rang.
It was the bank.
“Mr. Brooks, you had asked us to freeze all accounts of Miss Sheena. However, upon checking, we found that Miss Sheena’s accounts were all closed twelve years ago. She has never reopened since then.”
“That’s impossible!” Stephen immediately protested.
It was a Brooks family tradition that once a child turned one, a bank account would be opened for them, with a generous sum deposited monthly. Sheena was a Brooks family member–how could her account be closed, and twelve years ago, no less?
“Twelve years ago?” Stephen froze. That would have been around the time Sheena
was sent to the countryside.
His breath caught, and he quickly asked, “Who closed Sheena‘ s bank account?”

Chapter 11
The staff responded, “Your father, Mr. Brooks.”
After the call ended, Stephen couldn’t fathom why his father would do such a thing.
He quickly called Christopher to ask.
But Christopher harshly rebuked him, “For something as trivial as this, you‘ re questioning your own father? Have you forgotten respect for your elders?”
It was all true.
No wonder Sheena always wore ugly, cheap clothes and used low–quality goods. Even 20 when giving Amanda a birthday gift, she
ISE
only gave something unremarkable and worthless.
At that time, Stephen had even mocked her for being a miser, unwilling to spend a little money even on their mother’s birthday.
