The dining hall was quiet, with only the two of them. Sheena felt somewhat awkward and greeted him.
“Did you sleep well last night?” Wesley asked.
Just as Sheena was about to respond, she saw Wesley lean in closer.
He was so near that the crisp scent of fresh water seemed to surround her, and Sheena instinctively held her breath.
Luckily, Wesley quickly stepped back, his fingers lightly brushing a pale pink petal.
“There’s a petal on your shoulder. I hope you don’t mind my rudeness.”
Wesley was undoubtedly handsome. Just a small smile at the corner of his lips seemed. to make the sun itself fade in comparison.

For some reason, as she spoke, Sheena couldn’t help but remember what Megan had said the night before. The word “brother” slipped out naturally, and as soon as she realized what she had said, her face flushed again.
Fortunately, Wesley didn’t seem to mind. He calmly finished his breakfast and left for work.
Sheena let out a sigh of relief, but then she suddenly had a question.
She had just come out of her bedroom, so how did a petal end up on her shoulder?
For the next few days, Sheena had very few opportunities to be alone with Wesley. This made her feel a lot more at ease.
Meanwhile, after noticing the injury on Sheena’s foot, Megan relentlessly asked about her experiences before leaving the Brooks family. She was so furious that she nearly stormed out to tear down the Brooks

“Those Brooks family bastards are too much! They begged you to take the fall for Jasmin, and yet they treated you this way? I’m going to show them who’s boss!” She seethed.
Sheena quickly covered the injury on her foot and pulled Megan back. “It’s just a minor injury, it’ll heal soon.”
“Besides, before I left the Brooks family, I signed an agreement to sever ties with them. I have nothing to do with the Brooks family anymore.”
“And your fiancé?” Megan couldn‘ t help but ask.
When Sheena thought about Travis, she realized she no longer felt any emotional turmoil. Smiling lightly, she answered calmly, “I’ve already written an
annulment letter. Besides, I’m no longer a Brooks family daughter, so the engagement arranged by the previous generation no

“Is that so? Then, Sheena, have you considered my brother?” Megan looked at her with sparkling eyes.
“What… your brother?” Sheena stuttered, a tinge of confusion clouded her face.
“Dating him, of course.” Megan’s eyes lit up. “Sheena, since you‘ re single now, why not give my brother a try?”
Sheena immediately rejected the suggestion. “This isn’t appropriate.”
“What’s inappropriate about it?” Megan pouted as she thought for a moment. “Sheena, you don‘ t actually dislike my brother, do you?”
“Well, I mean, my brother is handsome and has a bit of money, but besides that, he’s got nothing much to offer. It makes sense. that you might not like him.”
Hearing Megan‘ s increasingly ridiculous remarks, Sheena quickly waved her hands.

“I don’t dislike him.”
Just then, Wesley pushed the door open and walked in.
Sheena was suddenly so embarrassed by what she had just said that her words felt like they were burning her mouth.
But Megan, undeterred, continued, “If you don‘ t dislike him, then that must mean you like him?”
“Sheena, since you like my brother, why not just be with him?”
Sheena felt her face turn bright red. She didn’t even remember how she ran back to her room, but she knew she couldn’t face Wesley anymore.
The Wilson siblings took good care of her. Occasionally, she would overhear Megan talking with the security guards.
