Chris frowned and looked at Old Mr. Hill, “Grandpa, have you been deceived by this woman too? Her belly is so flat. How does she look like she’s pregnant? You don’t really believe that she had a miscarriage, do you?”
Old Mr. Hill picked up his cane and punched him hard on the back. A dull. sound was heard.
Chris almost knelt down, cold sweat dripping from his forehead. It was clear that Old Mr. Hill had struck hard.
Old Mr. Hill’s face turned pale, and he spoke with an imposing manner, “You bastard. You believed the slander of that bitch and caused the death of my great- grandchild and even bullied my good granddaughter–in–law like this. Kneel down and apologize to her.”

Mr. Hill, including Chris. So he obediently knelt down.
He casually said. “I didn’t know she was really pregnant this time. I thought she was just deliberately lying because she didn’t want me to accompany Cindy.”
“I admit it was my fault for not believing her and coming to save her and the child in time, but who made her not tell me
earlier?”
“Wasn’t she wrong at all? She was pregnant and still so careless as to fall down the
stairs.”
“Our Hill family has only one son for nine generations. She has lost my son, my grandfather’s great–grandson. Shouldn’t she be punished?”
My face darkened. Didn’t I say it? I clearly called him, but he impatiently hung up on me because he was with Cindy.
And it wasn’t my carelessness that caused me to fall down. It was the intimate photo

of them that Cindy sent me that made me furious and caused me to accidentally fall.
Seeing his attitude, Old Mr. Hill hit him twice and glared angrily, “You confused fool, is this your way of apologizing? I think you’ve been bewitched by the bitch, which has made you unable to distinguish right from wrong.”
Chris winced in pain, but remained unconvinced, “Grandfather, Cindy is not a bitch, and it was clearly you who forcibly separated us before. Otherwise, none of these things would have happened.”
“Is social background so important? How could you sacrifice your grandson’s happiness just for the sake of matching social backgrounds?”
Old Mr. Hill was so angry that he was red in the face and neck, gasping for air, “I have raised you for so many years, and yet you are being played around by a bitch, still being kept in the dark. Today, I will expose her true face and let you see if she is your

dream lover or a bitch,”
Old Mr. Hill signaled to the butler beside him, and someone immediately brought Cindy up.
Cindy’s eyes were red, tears swirling in her eyes as she gazed fondly at Chris, “Chris, I’m fine. Don’t be angry with your grandfather for my sake, and don’t ruin your relationship with him because of me.”
“As long as you and your grandfather are well, it doesn’t matter what happens to me.”
When Chris heard her words, he had long
been heartbroken.
He frowned and said, “Grandfather, if you want to hit or scold someone, do it to me. Cindy is innocent. Don’t hurt her.”
“And she’s depressed. She can’t be stimulated in any way.”
Old Mr. Hill sneered, “Innocent? Why is she innocent? You say she is depressed. Is there any evidence? Is there a diagnosis?”

“What I care about is never the family background, but a person’s character. Winnie comes from an ordinary family. Why would I accept her?”
Chris didn’t understand, “Then why can’t you accept Cindy?”
