Chapter 8
When we walked together on the road, there were often girls who struck up a conversation with him.
There were girls of all kinds of appearances, but he had a high standard and hadn’t found anyone he liked.
At this time, another girl came, but she looked at me first and asked, “I’m sorry, are you guys a couple?”
I waved my hand and smiled, “No, I’m his sister.”
Jeremy’s face darkened.
Getting the answer she wanted, the girl” s corner of mouth rose and she shyly looked at Jeremy, “Hello, we’re playing beach volleyball over there and we’re short of one person. Do you want to come over and join Us?”
Jeremy kept looking at me. I thought he

didn’t go because he was afraid that I would be left alone.
I generously said, “It’s okay. It’s nice to stroll around by myself. You go play.”
Jeremy frowned and coldly said to the girl, “I have something else to do. You guys have fun.”
The girl nodded with some disappointment and left.
I teased, “Jeremy, you really have high standards. There are so many high–quality girls, but you don’t like any of them. What kind of girl do you actually like?”
“I like the mature, intellectual and charming girl.” Jeremy stared into my eyes and said.
I smirked, “You wouldn’t like Auntie who is ten or twenty years older than you, would you?”
Jeremy was speechless, “Are you that old?”
I smiled, “I’m definitely not that old.”

The next second, I realized and my eyes widened, “What do you mean?”
Jeremy didn’t say anything but just kissed
- me.
His eyes were full of laughter, “That’s my answer.”
My eyes widened and my entire body froze. in place for a long time before I came back. to my senses.
“Are you crazy? I’m seven years older than you. When I was in second grade, you were just born. We’re not suitable.”
As someone who received traditional education since childhood, my first
reaction to the relationship with such a big age difference was to reject it.
“It’s only seven years old, so what? I am glad to have a girlfriend who is older than me. And even though I’m young, do you think I’m not mature, not considerate, or irresponsible?”

That was not the case. These days of getting along, I had discovered that he was a caring, gentle, and considerate boy, and very good at taking care of people.
It also made me realize that a man’s maturity couldn’t be judged based on his
age.
But I still resisted, “I just got divorced and have just ended a relationship. I’m not planning on getting into a relationship at the moment.”
“I know, so I’m not in a hurry. I can wait until you fall in love with me, and until you let go of your previous relationship. Are you not even willing to give me a chance?”
Seeing Jeremy’s pitiful appearance, I couldn’t bear to refuse him, but I didn’t say yes either. Instead, I said I would consider it carefully.
What I didn’t expect was that the next day Chris came to my door, holding a large bouquet of champagne roses in his hands.

That used to be my favorite flower, but now I found it disgusting.
He came to reconcile with me, holding the flowers, “Winnie, I really know I was wrong. After you left, I realized that you are more important to me than life itself. I think about you all the time and can’t do anything without you. As long as you are willing to be with me, I will do no matter what you ask me to do.”
Late affection was worthless. He didn’t cherish me when we were together, but regretted it after breaking up. I hated this kind of person the most.
