Chris tightened his lips and pleaded, “Winnie, can’t you give me another chance?”
Jeremy rushed out and protected me behind him, “Mr. Hill, you have already divorced her. Shouldn’t you leave with dignity instead of pestering her?”
Chris’s face turned dark, “Who do you think you are? What right do you have to
interfere in front of me? I am talking to my ex–wife. What qualifications do you have to interrupt?”
“You said she is your ex–wife. What qualifications does an ex–husband have to question me? She has already clearly rejected you. Why did you come here to pester her?” Jeremy confronted him.

“You’re asking for it.” Chris punched Jeremy in the face.
A bruise quickly appeared on Jeremy’s cheek. He clenched his fist and also struck Chris.
The two of them ended up fighting each other.
Chris worked out every week and practiced taekwondo and karate. He was skilled in fighting.
But to my surprise, Jeremy had also seemed to practice martial arts. He looked thin, but he was actually very strong. He could fight evenly with Chris.

I sneered, “Chance? It was your own choice to be with that woman. Now you blame me for not giving you a chance?”
“Adults need to take responsibility for their own choices. Now get out of my sight, or I’ll call the police.”
After saying that, I didn’t bother to look at Chris, who had a broken face, and helped Jeremy back to the room to apply medicine.

I looked at him as if he were a fool, “Are you happy even after being beaten?”
Jeremy smiled brightly, “I’m not happy because I was beaten, but because being beaten can make you give me medicine. I feel that the beating was worth it.”
