Chapter12
Back home, Antonio gave me an explanation. “I got drunk the other night. We hit it off and hooked up right away. The doctor said if Amber had an abortion, most likely she wouldn’t have another child again.”
I felt exhausted. Sitting on the bed, I remained silent.
Antonio smoked the whole evening on the balcony of my room.
He was torturing himself to make me feel bad for him.
He always knew where my soft spot was.
It was dawn. Antonio turned around, walked into the room, and
came to me.
“Hungry? What do you wanna eat? I’ll cook.”
I called to him, my voice hoarse.
“Antonio, we need to talk.”
Antonio paused in his tracks, but he pretended he didn’t hear me and left the room.
He knew I couldn’t stand betrayal, mental or physical.
I told him that when he proposed.
I wanted faithful love.
-If he had an affair, I wouldn’t forgive him.
