Chapter 4
At midnight, I woke up from sobs and screams.
I sat up, and someone kicked my door open.
Marie barged in, crying. Before I knew it, several smacks landed on my face.
“How could you be so heartless?
“You already wounded her in the daytime. Do you wanna kill her?”
She threw herself into my dad’s arms and sobbed, “She knew Sandra was allergic to p Purchase completed led peach juice on Sandra’s pillow and sheet deliberately.
“She wants our daughter dead!”
“All right. Stop crying. Sandra took the medicine in time. She’s out of danger.”
My dad comforted her tenderly. Then, he looked at me in disgust. “Grace, I’m disappointed!
“Move out tomorrow.
“If you stay, we won’t have a moment of peace.”
Marie stopped crying immediately.
I looked at the man in front of me. He was supposed to be my closest kin in the world.

He used to love me deeply. I was his only daughter.
I was the apple of his eye.
Then, things changed.
Like the heroine of a novel, whose fortune was taken, I gradually lost everything.
At first, I didn’t understand. I cried, argued, and fought.
But now, I knew better.
The kinship and affection between my dad and me had been lost forever.
I moved out.
That day, he said, “I’ll pick you up after your mom’s death. anniversary.”
I didn’t respond.
After they left, I cut and burned the photos taken these years.
Some were of Antonio and me. The rest were of my dad and
- me.
At last, I cut the wedding dress bought three years ago.
I had bought it secretly after Antonio told me how he felt about
- me.
Ever since I was a teenager, I had always dreamed of being in a dress like that. It made me look like a princess.

Now, I ruined it myself.
The rest were the gifts Antonio bought me.
There were intriguing gadgets as well as valuable jewels.
I picked out the expensive ones and planned to let my best friend keep them for me.
After I left Vertway City, I’d ask her to return them to Antonio for
- me.
Then, Antonio and I would be completely even.
The cheap ones were only little things to cheer me up.
Without hesitation, I bagged them to throw them away.
Once, even a key ring from Antonio was a treasure to me.
Now, when I dumped them, I felt nothing.
All this was done. I wrapped my mom’s photo carefully and put it in the interlayer of my suitcase
Without looking back, I left the home I had lived in for ten years.
When I walked through the gate, Antonio’s car happened to drive in.
I didn’t look at him.
But the car stopped beside me.
The backseat window was rolled down, revealing Antonio’s handsome and noble face.

My eyes swept coldly across him, and I didn’t stop.
“Grace.”
He frowned. “Where are you going?”
I was carrying two huge suitcases. It wasn’t easy.
I didn’t have the energy to stop and talk with him.
I ignored him and kept going.
Antonio opened the car door and got out.
“I can have the chauffeur give you a ride.”
“No, thanks.”
I moved away from his hand and moved on.

But Antonio grabbed my wrist. “Grace, why are you being stubborn?
“If you cry like before, I may soften.”
I shook his hand away and looked at him calmly, “Antonio, it’s unnecessary now.”
Neither my tears nor his softness mattered now.
After everything, I was tired. Exhausted.
“Fine. Whatever.”
Antonio sneered, but the look in his eyes said he didn’t believe
- me.
