Since Liam voiced his suspicions, Nina had become much more cautious, quietly urging her parents to hurry up and destroy what was left of my body.
But Liam moved fast. Within two days, he had gathered all the information he needed and traced Nina’s activities leading up to my disappearance.
When Liam stormed into the Dawson family’s home with his men, my parents remained disturbingly calm. Only when they saw Nina tied up did they show any emotion, pleading with Liam to show mercy.
Liam’s team spread out across the house, conducting a meticulous search.
I hovered by the window, anxiously watching them approach the storage shed in the backyard.
But when they reported back, they claimed they found nothing.
It seemed my body had been moved.
A dark look crossed Liam’s face as he glanced at one of the black–clad security guards. The guard yanked Nina forward, pressing a knife to her throat.
Seeing the panic in my parents‘ eyes, Liam smirked.
“Where’s Sarah?” he asked, his voice icy.
My mom pointed at Nina, her face twisted in fear. “This is Sarah, our daughter…”

had reluctantly let Nina take my place.
Liars.
I floated to Liam’s side, yelling desperately in his ear to ignore their lies, even though I knew he couldn’t hear me.
At this point, I just hoped that Liam, after everything we’d been through as husband and wife, would find a way to recover my body, or at least what was left of it.
Liam wasn’t one to back down easily. He had come prepared, and his eyes were fixed on that storage shed.
He dragged my parents and Nina over there, signaling to the security guards to begin the search.
The Dawsons thought if they just kept lying, Liam would eventually give up.
“Son–in–law, we lied to you, but please, have mercy. Think of the love you had for Sarah. She wouldn’t want to see you treat us like this,” my mother begged.
I crossed my arms, glaring at them, furious that they were still trying to manipulate him by using me.
Liam didn’t waste any more words. He had the guards open several large cases filled with tools.

My body went cold at the sight of them–it looked like something straight out of a nightmare.
Liam started by having wet towels placed over their faces, peeling them away each time they struggled for breath.
They weren’t used to such cruelty. After just a few rounds, they broke.
In the end, they led him to a shallow grave where my upper body remained, still mostly intact. They hadn’t yet had time to finish disposing of me.
My hands were gone, my stomach was split open, and I could see faint outlines of the two children I’d carried.
My heart ached as tears streamed down my face.
Liam knelt by my body, his eyes burning red, gently brushing the dirt away from my face and torso. He cradled me in his arms.
I couldn’t stop staring at the remains of our children.
i never imagined that the four of us would be reunited like this.
We’d failed as parents.
But I knew, just as I had, that Liam had dreamed of having these children, too. Sadly, fate had denied us the chance to be a family.
I clutched my chest, following him as he carried me away from the shed.
