Chapter 13
It was already nine o’clock in the evening when they returned to the Johansson residence.
However, the living room was filled with people,
“You still know to come back?” A roar came.
Samantha, with a lollipop in her mouth, frowned at the man who shouted. It turned out to be her father, Darius.
“Why? What’s wrong with coming back now?”
“Don’t you even look at the time? What time is it?” Darius continued to shout
Samantha snorted. “Isn’t it just nine o’clock? What’s the big deal?
“It’s only nine o’clock?” Darius seemed to hear something funny. I won’t stop you if you want to go out alone. I don’t bother whether you come back or not. But you’re bringing Ryland with you. He’s only five years old! At this time, he should be in
bed.
“Fuck!”
Samantha was seething with anger. She needed an outlet for the frustration caused by the man, so she decided to go shopping, hoping it would bring her some joy.
However, before she could tinker with her electronic devices after returning home, she was met with a row of brutal shots.
“Damn it. If I don’t make an example of him today, others will think I’m easy to bully,” she thought.
Samantha took the new backpack for Ryland and hurled it at Darius.
Darius reacted in time and caught the backpack, but the force behind it nearly caused him to lose his balance on the couch, He also felt a slight pain in his arm as a result.
“What are you doing?” Darius shouted.
‘ll show you stubborn old man what I’ve been busy with.” Samantha put one hand in her pocket and walked toward Darius while staring at him. Her stance held a commanding presence and natural majesty that made it impossible for anyone to ignore her.
“Your wife, Mrs. Lucille Johansson, has been busy all afternoon but still failed to let Ryland sign up for Sovereign Kindergarten. She even subjected Ryland to ridicule. But Ryland wants to go to Sovereign Kindergarten, and Grandpa agrees that we should fulfill his wish. As his mother. I have no choice but to take matters into my own hands. Of course, it takes time to clean up after Mrs. Lucille Johansson. Do you think signing up for Ryland doesn’t require time? Do you think buying all those stationery and books for Ryland doesn’t take time? As my father, I have been away for a long time. You never cared about what I did or even my safety while I was outside. That’s fine. But now that I’ve returned, you immediately start yelling at me. If I did something wrong. I’m willing to admit it. However, I’ve spent the whole day taking care of Ryland and handling matters for the Johansson family. If Ryland could attend Sovereign Kindergarten, wouldn’t it benefit our family as well? Why do you make it sound like I took Ryland out to fool around, as you said? Which daughter would dare to have a father like you? Or can I just attack you without any reason when you come back to the Johansson residence?”
The questioning hit straight to the heart.
Darius blushed.
Alec glanced at Darius and felt a little disappointed.
The third branch of the family was getting worse now!

Chapter 13
Then, he looked at Ryland kindly and asked, “Ryland, have you signed up?”
64%
“Yes” Ryland smiled at his grandfather and said in a sweet voice. The teacher from Sovereign Kindergarten also gave me an entrance test, I got full marks”
“Ryland, you’re so awesome! Alec smiled brightly.
“Of course I am.” Ryland smiled smugly, “Look who my great–grandpa is.”
Hahaha. Alec laughed happily.
After chatting with Ryland for a while about Sovereign Kinderganen, Alec looked at Samantha praisefully and said, “You did a good job signing up for Ryland today.”
No one knew that Samantha really wanted to roll her eyes at this moment.
She didn’t want his praise! She was not a kid in kindergarten waiting for the teacher to praise her!
Although Samantha didn’t care about Alec’s praise, the others were watching the scene with green eyes.
At this moment, anyone who could win Alec’s favor would gain an advantage in securing a share of the family assets.
At first, the third branch of the family kidnaps Ryland to please Alec. Samantha was never in the equation as they knew Alec disliked her.
But now, they were surprised to see that Samantha was so good at cheering up Alec
They started to feel threatened.
Priscilla, from the first branch of the family, spoke casually, “Samantha has endured a lot during her time away and has shown maturity upon her return.”
“Yes, I think so too!” As always, Xavion looked at Samantha with admiration.
When his father scolded him, he also wanted to fight back like that.
However, Xavion didn’t have the guts to do so, fearing that he would get beaten up.
Samantha was so handsome just now when her retort left her father speechless.
One day, he had to imitate her.
At that moment, Xavion chimed in, speaking subserviently, “Samantha has shown great maturity and consideration for our family. With Ryland being able to attend Sovereign Kindergarten, he will have better opportunities for growth and development. This will ultimately benefit the Johansson family as a whole.”
“Good point.” Alec also glanced at Xavion with admiration.
Xavion trembled.
Since elementary school, Xavion had been a mischievous boy with poor grades who showed no interest in business. He was the only one in the family who was captivated by painting but had yet to achieve any notable success. Alec never looked at him favorably. Instead, he always favored Charlie, the older brother talented in the business field, and Elise, who excelled academically and played the piano skillfully.
Xavion and Samantha had been scolded and beaten since childhood.
But now, he was praised by Alec.
Chapter 13
This experience was so surrcal.
Xavion silently swore in his heart that he would hold on to Samantha and Ryland from now on. He would unquestioningly and unconditionally praise them always.
“Samantha is so sensible now. I have an idea. Priscilla smiled gently.
“Oh? Let’s hear it. Terence immediately cooperated with his wife.
Priscilla continued, “How about Lucille find Samantha a good high school and let her continue to study before attending this year’s SAT? After all, Sam hasn’t been to university yet. Maybe slie will feel sorry in the future.”
Her words were logical, and her eyes filled with pity and concern as she looked at Samantha.
It made people immediately feel that she was really thinking about Samantha.
Elise smiled after hearing Priscilla’s proposal.
She thought, “Yeah. How can I forget that my good sister has never even been to university?”
Elise remembered that time when Samantha got her grades, her grandfather and dad were so angry.
They thought Samantha was embarrassing the Johansson family,
After all, every member of the Johansson family had always been successful in gaining admission to universities.
With this thought in mind, Elise’s smile widened. She believed that although Samantha may have become more articulate, it didn’t change the fact that she had no academic foundation and couldn’t possibly get into university within just three months after five years of absence.
This was undoubtedly a perfect trap.
Elise smiled and chimed in, “I also believe that Aunt Priscilla’s suggestion is excellent. With Ryland attending kindergarten, Samantha can study alongside him and serve as a role model. It will be beneficial for Ryland’s education as well.”
Elise was skilled in persuasive speaking. By emphasizing the positive impact on Ryland and framing the action as beneficial for him, Alec would likely agree to her proposal, considering his concern for Ryland’s well–being.
As expected. Alec said directly, “That’s right. Do remember to arrange it for the Darius family”
Lucille replied respectfully, “Yes. Then she looked at Samantha and hesitantly said, “Samantha, I’m not sure what your thoughts are. If you don’t want to go back to school, I’ll feel guilty for pushing you into something you don’t want.”
