Chapter 23
Tripp’s father glanced at Francis, who was tall and upright with a prominent vibe. He took a deep breath and reached out his hand to Francis respectfully. “Good to see you, Mr. Gurray, I’m Tripp’s dad.”
However, Francis ignored Tripp’s father’s hand and uttered coldly, “We summoned you to hear your explanation, not to meet up and have coffee.”
Tripp’s father’s face instantly turned livid.
“As expected, this guy’s a hedonist as he’s rumored to be, both domineering and fierce. How fortunate of him to be blessed with such fate!” was Tripp’s father’s thought.
As the scion of the Gurray family, no matter how awful his character was, Francis was not some individual those commoners could afford to mess with
Awkward. Tripp’s father withdrew his hand, rubbed his hands for a bit, and then explained, “My apologies, Mr. Gurray. My son was too naughty for his own good. He wanted to wave the glow stick to cheer for you, but the glow stick accidentally slipped out of his hand. Unfortunately, that stick rolled toward Mr. Isaac Gurray and tripped the boy up. I’m really sorry for that. We’ll definitely make it up to him and compensate for his medical expenses!”
“Hahaha.” A sneer escaped Samantha on that note.
Tripp’s father directed his line of sight at that woman who let out a sneer out of nowhere before freezing momentarily.
Wow… She’s.. so beautiful. Still, doesn’t she look a little too creepy?” he thought.
Samantha squinted as she pinned her gaze on him as if she was shooting daggers at that man. Seeing that, he did not dare to move a muscle.
“Could the glow stick really have fallen from the boy’s hand and rolled itself almost 16 feet away? Is this some kind of joke you’re telling? Did you fail your math in school or something? Should I send you back to school myself to revisit some of the lessons taught?”
Her opinion of teaching him a lesson sounded nothing less than a threat.
Tripp’s father had completely lost every ounce of his confidence, but he was still trying to defend himself. “My kid’s only five years old, so what ill intention can a five–year–old child nurse? Besides, my boy has always been kind of a blockhead, so I don’t think he’d know how to trip a person up with a glow stick.
In order to get rid of all suspicion, he had no choice but to disparage his own son’s intelligence.
In fact, Tripp was dumb, but it did not mean that he was innocent.
Some children were like the embodiment of angels, yet some were born mere devils, to say the least.
Be it an adult or a child, those who were in the wrong ought to face punishment.
Age was never a
an excuse for anyone, let alone a child, to have his or her way.
Samantha shot a meaningful gaze at Tripp, who had been hiding behind his mother, and snapped, “Spit it out, Tripp! Why must you trip Isaac? If you don’t admit to your mistake today, I’ll send you to the police station. The police will be glad to teach you how to behave!”
The chubby Tripp cried out in fright upon hearing Samantha’s warning. Immediately afterward, the boy slumped onto the ground and wailed, “I simply wished to screw him up! He’s just a love child without his mommy by his side! Why did Ms. Sykes always praise him for being smart but not me? Why can’t I trip him up? I don’t want to go to the police station-

Tripp’s mother hurriedly squatted down to cover her son’s mouth and hush the boy. “Sorry, Mr. Gurray. Tripp doesn’t know. any better. Please don’t take his words to heart.” She panicked.
“Hal” Francis huffed a snort. His whole body gave off a chilly air as his rage surged from within. “You claimed that he didn’t mean to trip Isaac. Now that he insulted my son, you said he didn’t know any better. Do you truly think my brutality has preceded me over the years for nothing?”
Francis abruptly raised his voice. A formidable, majestic aura was emanating throughout his whole body, to the extent that the atmosphere in the sick bay became suffocating.
Tripp’s mother was so scared that she fell to the ground altogether, losing all courage to even look up at that scary man.
Samantha sneaked a peek at Francis placidly. Deep down, she admired him a little.
“This man’s sure protective of his kid,” she mused.
At that juncture, Tripp bit his mother’s hand, which made the woman retract her hand in pain. Following that, Tripp continued to cry out, “Isaac’s an illegitimate child! Everyone knows he’s one without a mother!”
“Bullshit!” Ryland suddenly roared at Tripp before approaching him and pointing at Samantha
“You’d better look carefully, Tripp. That lady is my mommy, so she’s also Isaac’s mommy. All four of us are here today, so what makes you think that he’s born out of wedlock?”
Isaac also followed Ryland’s gaze and gazed at Samantha. Although Samantha stood there all astonished, she did not deny it.
Ablissful sensation rose inside Isaac. Gone was the pain in his wounded knees.
Tripp, in turn, even forgot to continue whimpering after being bellowed at by Ryland. He stared blankly at Samantha, seemingly lost in thought.
“You’re lying. Since when did he have a mother? If he did, why wasn’t she present during the parent–teacher conference?” he choked out while sobbing.
“My daddy worries that my mommy will be worn out, so he’s taken the initiative to attend the parent–teacher conference instead. Why? You’ve got a problem with that?” Ryland regarded Tripp with disdain. “Our family of four are all dashing individuals. Are you too blind to tell that we’re a family?”
Words eluded Samantha. “He’s pretty good at lying, huh?” she thought.
Francis was also speechless, thinking, “Like mother, like son. That kid really does take after his mom.”
It was then that Ryland gave Tripp a look of disgust again. “Do you think everyone’s as ugly–looking as all three of your family?”
Never in a million years did Tripp’s parents expect to wind up as collateral damage of some bickering among kids.
“Ryland, don’t waste your breath talking to them. Just ask someone to escort them to the police station and have our lawyer deal with them. I don’t want to waste a second more of our family lunchtime on the likes of them, came Isaac’s exhortation.
Even though Ryland was shocked by Isaac’s sudden intimacy, he thought that it was a good idea to have a family lu way, he could try setting up his parents once more.
Hence, he cooperated and agreed, “I second that, Isaac.
That
He quickly turned to his father and went on, “Daddy, I’ll leave this to you. Mommy and I will take Isaac along to receive the award. After that, the four of us will celebrate with a feast.”
After saying that, Ryland turned a blind eye to how stumped Francis was by that sweet call of his as he dragged Samantha to

carry Isaac out of the place.
After the mother–and–son trio stepped out, Tripp’s father still wanted to continue pleading for mercy.
Nevertheless, Francis seemed to have no one to care about now, so his own body exuding a powerful, imposing vibe.
His deep eyes were shining with nothing but murderous intent.
At that point, he resembled Hades rising from hell.
“If you still want to keep the Gentry family business running, save your breath and start thinking about the best course of action to clean up this mess. No one, not even a deity, can talk me into letting this matter slide!”

Francis exited the door right after dropping that statement.
Even his back was frosty and downright arrogant.
Tripp’s father then slumped into the seat, muttering to himself, “Oh, dear… We’re so
screwed…”
Disappointed. Tripp’s mother was the first to smack her son on the head. “You rascal! Why must you mess with Mr. Curray’s son, of all people? Look at what you’ve done! Thanks to you, our entire Gentry family is doomed!”
All Tripp did was burst into tears.
Meanwhile, outside the infirmary, Samantha had Isaac in her arms as she held Ryland’s hand and made their way to receive the coveted prize.
Despite the fact that they had not scored a single point in the last relay race, their final score was still ahead of everyone else by a long stretch, for they had secured first place in quite a few of the previous games.
Unsurprisingly, they won the first prize–a Bumblebee model.
Francis asked the kindergarten to deliver the Bumblebee model to the Gurray residence while he led Samantha and their sons out of the school and hop into the car.
Of course, he had called the driver to leave first when he came out
t of the sick bay a while ago.
As they reached the black sedan, Francis carefully carried Isaac to the back seat.
During the interim, Ryland opened the door to the passenger seat.
“Mommy, you take the passenger seat. I want to sit in the back with Isaac.”
Ryland then pushed Samantha and made her slide into the passenger seat before thoughtfully closing the door for her. Samantha was bereft of speech. “What kind of son is he? Maybe I should just disown him, she grumbled inwardly.
