After Lily and I were chosen, there was one woman left. The Water Zombie King exchanged her for other spoils of war.
The woman’s name was Rachel, and like me, she practiced martial arts. We were even in the same dorm in college.
If it weren’t for her in the survivor squad, I would have been killed long ago by that burden, Lily.
Actually, I had an ulterior motive in choosing the second–in–command.
Given the Water Zombie King’s abilities, which surpassed the other Zombie King, if I went with the second–in–command, he would definitely
want another woman.
This way, both Rachel and I could stay in this zombie horde, and I would have a reliable helper.
Back then, she was assigned to the third zombie horde and was tortured to death within a short time. After her death, she even became food
and was eaten.
Whether for the sake of cooperation or friendship, I wanted to save her this time.
As for Lily, let her gloat for now. She’ll soon realize how tough life in the zombie horde can be.
The Fire Zombie King was half a head taller than the Water Zombie King, with a body full of lean muscles.
He had perfect eight–pack abs and muscle lines, a perfect body, and not an ugly face, but the huge size difference could cost Lily her life.
That thing would hurt more than childbirth.
Moreover, the Fire Zombie King only retained a small part of his humanity and was extremely vicious. How good could he be to her?
As for why I didn’t choose the third Zombie King, it was because that was the force that had devoured the Water Zombie King’s horde.

That Zombie King’s awakened ability was to release a paralyzing toxin.
.
He relied entirely on sneak attacks in fights, vicious and cunning, but actually didn’t have much real skill. Later, he would also be devoured by other zombie hordes.
Besides this city, there were many zombie hordes in the surrounding areas.
Well, mainly because that Poison King’s appearance was truly indescribable, with a body as green as moldy seaweed from dying of poisoning.
With his triangular head and beady eyes, he was completely bestial. Back then, Rachel didn’t survive more than a few days in his hands.
Lily later fell into his hands and suffered greatly too.
That Poison King didn’t say anything when we left, just smiled sinisterly.
He had no objections to the distribution of the only three women.
Because he was already planning to devour the other zombie hordes, getting all the spoils was just a matter of time.
In the previous life, he did succeed. When the Fire Zombie King was expanding his territory, he would take the opportunity to ambush the
Water Zombie King’s horde.
But this time, with me here, his plans might fall through.
The Water Zombie King wasn’t too vicious, rather simple–minded. He wanted to reproduce, so he wasn’t too bad to Lily initially.
As long as Rachel doesn’t resist or anger him, she shouldn’t be in immediate danger.
In this past year of the apocalypse, our pride had long been worn away. Survival was the priority.
Rachel was doing okay. Her period came at a crucial time, saving her from trouble.
The Water Zombie King was a true gentleman, retaining some of that quality even after becoming a zombie.
I told Rachel that Luke was the second–in–command, and her expression was quite complex.
She knew about the grudge between Luke and me. Back then, I had complained about him in the dorm for days.
He used to be a senior, but in this situation, even if he were my brother, it wouldn’t help much.
In the apocalyptic era, humanity had long since disappeared.
Then I told her about the Poison King’s impending sneak attack, of course, in a speculative tone, saying we might have a chance to escape
then.
Rachel was worried we couldn’t escape, and still hoped I could talk things out with Luke.
So that night, I crept to the bedside, but before I could speak, I was pinned down on the bed like a piglet.
Luke had become an agility–type fighter after turning into a zombie, as fast as lightning. I was like a weakling in front of him.
“What? Want to see how well we match?” he sneered.
