From the top of a high–rise building, I watched the densely packed hordes biting and tearing at each other below, searching for that familiar figure.
I watched him gradually make his way through the horde towards the Fire Zombie King’s position, reporting his location through the earpiece.
Following the route I had planned, he avoided many obstacles and silently circled to the enemy’s rear.
Turning into a white lightning bolt, he appeared above the Fire Zombie King’s head, directly executing a stranglehold and taking off the opponent’s head.
Without the Zombie King’s control, the horde fell into chaos.
Luke let out a soul–stirring roar, making all the zombies bow their heads in submission.
He was the last king.
The remaining small fry who didn’t submit? Just beat them into submission, no big deal.
Rachel and I busied ourselves gathering resources and taking stock of survivors.
I have to say, the Fire Zombie King was truly wealthy. The resources he possessed were enough for me to live a lifetime.
Plant some vegetables, raise some chickens, ducks, and geese, and wouldn’t that be a good life?
Oh right, I must take that doctor with me. It would be worry–free to have someone to treat minor ailments in the future.
After finding the doctor, I saw Lily. She was in a sorry state, haggard, covered in blood stains.

The moment she saw me, her eyes were filled with nothing but intense hatred.
“Chloe, why? Why does fate always favor you? Why?!”
I signaled two zombies to carry her away.
She couldn’t get what she wanted, and I couldn’t have what I desired. Who did fate really favor?
I looked at her indifferently: “Why don’t you ask yourself if you deserve fate’s favor?”
“You were dealt a good hand and still managed to mess it up completely. You deserve this outcome. This is what you earned.”
It was her who was never satisfied, never grateful, and harbored malicious thoughts.
Even if she didn’t treat me as a friend, if she had just sincerely cooperated and helped each other like Rachel did, she wouldn’t have ended up
like this.
Lily still showed no remorse, cursing all the way: “Chloe, you bitch, you won’t be better off than me!”
I cried, not because of her curses, but because of my frustration.
Damn it, Luke likes this kind of trash but not me, it’s so infuriating!
I had the zombies send Lily to Luke, and left with Rachel to pack up.
We also took the doctor with us, choosing an area in the south with a farm, which was very suitable for living.
A few days later, we settled in and started preparing the land for planting vegetables. We also fenced off an area for livestock.
The doctor’s name was Dr. Ryan, a tall, handsome guy standing at 6 feet.
With a man and woman working together, the work wasn’t tiring. With him around, our efficiency increased significantly.
Luke really was heartless. He hadn’t asked about me once in the days since I left.
Once Lily went back, I guess this tool was no longer needed!
After sulking for a few days, I gradually came to terms with it. We were different species now, zombie and human. We weren’t compatible.
But I didn’t expect him to suddenly show up with Lily.
A black SUV stopped at the farm gate. Lily was wearing a white dress, no longer in the sorry state she was in before.
Although she looked fine on the surface, she was rotten to the core.
She moved close to Luke, smiling meaningfully: “See? I told you she’s already with another man.”
Although she was talking nonsense, I didn’t want to explain. Weren’t they together now?
I was free now, without any official relationship with Luke. What did it matter who I was with?
I frowned in annoyance: “This is my territory. Luke, you’re not going back on your word, are you? Take your woman and get lost. I feel sick just looking at her
Lily’s face changed, her voice becoming shrill: “How dare you talk to me like that? Who do you think you are?”
“If it weren’t for Luke’s protection, you would have long been a plaything for other Zombie Kings. What are you so proud of?”
I calmly retorted: “I don’t know who was carried out after being used up. I’ve only slept with your man.”
