Chapter 82
Rose’s POV
I lay there completely still with the tears rolling down my face as I inhale sharp pants. I remained in shock that another male had just put his hands on me… all because I had accidentally spilled some drinks over him…
seconds, Sawyer came hardling in to the bathroom, reaching down to grab me and to help me stand back up on to my shaky legs.
“You good?” Sawyer looks stressed and asks, as I nod and sniffle–watching him reach for some toilet roll to provide me with tissues.
I use them, wiping my nose and face as best I can, clutching Sawyers hand in mine in fear of being left alone in this moment…
“Alpha?!” The unknown man seems astounded, as Sawyer stands in front of me and I try my best to peak around him to see what was going on just outside of the door.
“HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY MATE!” I hear Ashtons gripping tone, before he suddenly pounces and holds the man by the throat against the wall – causing for me to gasp and get a good enough view of the whole ordeal.
Sawyer realises, and moves to cover my view as I come faced with his large back instead once again.
“Is he going to kill him?” I panic, as Sawyer glances over has shoulder back at me yet chooses to remain silent – which helps to answer my question.
“Ashton!” I find myself calling out to him, before moving around Sawyer who reaches to hold my wrist to stop me from getting any closer to the pair
The man was clearly now choking, as Ashton held him there with a vice grip and no remorse watching him squirm.
“Ashton stop it!” I demand, not enjoying the thought of the man dying at what was supposed to be a nice day for everyone today.
Sure he just put his hands on me, which was totally uncalled for, but I wasn’t prepared to let him die for it.
“Rose go away somewhere with Sawyer!” Ashton barks back at me, clearly irritated and on edge as the man’s face grows purple and deadly
DROP HIM NOW!” I find myself screaming, and in an instant, the man lands in a heap on the floor coughing and spluttering for his breath and clutching at his bruising neck.
Ashton turns to face me, his eyes furious. “HE SHOVED YOU AND IVE KILLED PEOPLE FOR MUCH LESS THAN THAT BEFORE!” Ashton informs me, and I don’t question for a moment that he has but it just didn’t feel right.
“I don’t like it.” I state in a quieter voice, realising that we had gained a lot of attention from everyone nearby now: watching the encounter unfold between their Alpha and his new pregnant mate.

“Lock him up!” Ashton suddenly demands, waving a hand as two nearby guards step in and drag the guy up to his feet as he sweats and pants – evidently disheveled.

He wasn’t just some innocent male, he was a known and respected killer.
“L… just don’t want anymore deaths… not on my hands.” I admit, my head flopping forward as

He approaches me, wrapping his arms around me in a warm embrace, as I melt into his hold during his attempt to comfort me.

Chapter 2
“The deaths are always on my hands, not yours.” He states his reply as he holds me, remaining stubborn and direct.
He’s not wrong there 1 suppose…
“Just give him a chance and we can enjoy the rest of the day! I’m not even badly hurt, I just banged my side but I think I’m ok now,” explain, pulling back from his hold to point to the area in which I had bumped.
Ashton follows my action, his face becoming even more enraged if at all possible as he looks to the area for himself.
“You bumped your stomach!” He deadpans, looking as though he wanted to go back and kill the guy for definite this time.
I rub the area a little, deciding that the pain had died down since the incident and that it wasn’t too serious… at least I hope not.
“Anybody with eyes can see that you’re pregnant! If you don’t want death; then he will be punished in other ways for putting his hands on a pregnant female – and it just had to be my fucking female at that!” Ashton leaves no room for further argument, as I all but not seeing his point with a final huff.
He would never just let this situation rest, but anything was better than outright choking the man to death!
“Doctor Carter will look at you as soon as we get back!” Ashton also adds, which I reluctantly agree to knowing that it would be for the best to make sure that the bump didn’t impact the baby in any way.
Ashton reaches his thumbs up to wipe my mascara off from my cheeks, as I tum to face the mirror, quickly fixing what I can of my appearance.
“Can we just enjoy the rest of the day? Forget that it happened?” I munsble, seeing Ashton nod tightly.
He doesn’t want to forget that it happened, but for me he was willing to… at least for a little while.
“Don’t leave my sight!” He instructs, reaching his hand out for me to take as I nod in understanding,
He would be on edge now after that, and 1 didn’t exactly want to walk around anywhere on my own now either!
With that, we exit the bathroom and head back outside as I lower my head at the masses of whispers and wondering eyes as we pass by.
No doubt the whole incident had already circulated around the event in record time…
“Ignore them!” Ashton whispers down to me, pulling me forward with him as I try my hardest but struggle to with the number of stares that we were getting.
We approach Lydia, Hunt, Sawyer and Oliver who were all seated on the same area as before. Luckily, our spot was out of the way of everyone else which I was thankful for since it gave us some privacy to talk without anyone listening in and being nosey,
“Rose?! Oh my, are you ok?” Lydia instantly stands with wide eyes and rushes to hug me as I nod and hug her back, wanting to forget that it evert happened.
“I’m ok… how about you? Did you…” I trail off, pulling back to look in her eyes as she gives me a shy nod which causes a wide grin to stretch across my face.
She did it! She told Hunt that she wants to be his mate! That was way more important than what just happened to me!
“Is he excited?!” 1 question in a whisper, not wanting the boys to hear us as Ashton goes over to sit with them.
“He wanted to take me back home as soon as I said it! I told him that I wanted to stay here for a while first though? Lydia giggles, completely lifting the whole mood with her news,
I was so excited to see her start a healthy life with Hunt growing their own bond and family together. I didn’t need for the incident

“Are you sure you’re ok?” Lydia whispers, as I nod and encourage her to come sit back down with me.
I wanted to forget that it happened… there is way etter things going on right now to focus on instead!
